I always apologize to my cat, because he really wants to roam outside, by reminding him he is an artificially propped up predator species that can’t be allowed to kill wild birds. He is unimpressed but the birds are safe in my yard anyway
Female Common Earwigs Forficula auricularia are very good mothers. After spending the winter guarding her batch of eggs she cares for the nymphs for several weeks and regurgitates food for them. The nymphs will disperse when they are large enough to fend for themselves. Dartmoor, Devon

I always check the birds in the trees by Lytchett Bay Rock Lea View feeding station from distance in case they all fly off, hoping for a Brambling. Was not expecting this Snow Bunting sat high in the trees!
