My friend John runs a shop that specializes in restoring classic Aston-Martins. He does other cars too, but the AMs are his core business.

For various reasons thinking about backdating the front suspension on my B away from tube shocks.

Might be giving far too much credit suggesting there’s absolutely any strategy at all here.

Maybe but certainly not the bushings? Car must have been slightly easer for them to assemble this way, or something.

Engine out for…. a control arm?!?!

I do think it can’t go on that long, one way or another. Question is how bad the ride is. Even a year or two is forever if people are starving, burning floorboards for heat etc. like when the USSR collapsed.

Yep, you could say a big part of US stocks going up is the dollar going down right now. Anyway not sure what else is going to get enough people to care more about getting these guys out instead of manufactured culture war BS.

Only other jaded thing I will say today is that all this nonsense will continue unless there’s a major stock market correction that lasts more than 6 months or something like that.

lol exactly, it would just be bunch of cheap/expensive shit we all have to buy and display.

Let’s skip whatever other phases and go straight to N. Korea style economic isolationism but even more. Will totally work out for us.

Tha Alfa looks pretty cool with the headlights turned around. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.

Oh, my wheel is a Les Leston Monte Carlo reissue, made by the Lestons still! It uses a Motolita boss.

Yup, this. Also, the steering wheels center is the horn.

The MGB had four dashes I think. Original like mine, then to Nial’s, then to a more modern dash like in our GT here. The fourth dash was similar to this also.

Cool MG upgrade - this is a key mounted to a stainless knurled knob that lets you actually use the glovebox without either having to unlock it every time, or have a key sticking out.

I just got to drive one of these recently! Really cool cars!

The S2000 top needs 2 people as well - but once you drop it in place it’s quick/straight forward. The MGB takes some real finagling and has some brackets you have to bolt into the normal soft top mounts, and then bolt the top to them. Nothing there is really an exact fit. That kind of old car stuff

Yeah I like the look, too. It’s a real pain to put on/take off though, hah.

Yeah I feel like there were some good examples of this starting the late 80’s or so. It looks awesome, a real bummer it’s just not a thing anymore even on like the ND.

I also don’t think it’s possible without a double wishbone front suspension, which Honda basically abandoned as well.

Yeah - say what you want about S2000s, but that one thing is probably never going to be topped, hah.

The engine is hopefully about done. The transmission is off somewhere that isn’t great about picking the phone up, but I found an alternate rebuilt box the guy wants a large amount of money for. Sigh.
