Christmas cookies with Buddha cookie.
Ho ho hotoke 🎅
What's happening at Western Illinois University is catastrophic as folks will discover when knowledge systems that librarians build, maintain, and explain inevitably fall apart. Can you have a university without librarians? I don't know, can you swim without water?

Looks like an incredible conference!
Six painted rocks that look like penguins in a garden. In the back are three happy penguins (parents and baby), which have been missing for several weeks. In the front are two angry penguins (one vengeful holding handcuffs) and a rock painted like their foster babies.
It’s a Christmas miracle! 🌟 Whoever stole our penguin family from the rock garden returned them!! Now the angry penguins I made in response are protecting them with a specific set of skills I guess.
Good Monday morning to my gorgeous winter reading list as I get ready to co-teach an intergroup dialogue course on spirituality and wonder ✨
My article on the event (now ten years old) can be found here. I plan to return to conduct more research on the event in the next few years. brill.com/view/journal...
The lanterns were not in the original Moana opening sequence, or if they were, they were not maintained for the version currently on Disney+. The lanterns themselves look a heck of a lot like the ones for the Hawaiian Lantern Floating Ceremony held by Shinnyoen at, you guessed it, Ala Moana Beach 🌺
I just got out from seeing #Moana2 with my Moana-obsessed three year old. Delighted to see that in the classic Disney movie opening sequence with the castle, there were tiny lanterns floating on the river below. I would love to learn more about the decision to add the lanterns.
Amazing! I always feel the need to explain our skull nook to babysitters 😂
Looking forward to reading this one in the spring with my independent study student working on Buddhism and the environment!

So lovely to be back in my college town two decades later for this #aarsbl. @ucsandiego.bsky.social
Why was the printer playing music? Because the paper was jammin’ 🎶🪇
Thanks! ☺️
Getting ready to co-teach a class next term on intergroup dialogue centered on “Spirituality and Wonder.” Would love recs for great reads/listens/watches on these topics.
Please add me 🙋🏻♀️
Have been off Twitter for quite some time but when I heard stirrings that #BlueSky has been hitting its stride recently I decided to pop in. Happy to see so much of #BuddhistStudies Twitter has migrated here. I’ve missed the digital community 🪷
