One the hardest games I've played. I'm not big into Souls series or the like. The tools and movement they give you in NineSols grabbed me though. I want to say that first real boss was one the hardest because you have limited tools and early enough to still be learning.

I know itβs difficult right now, but I insist that you seek and enjoy beautiful things, even if it seems frivolous or irresponsible in the face of overwhelming horror. I want you to feed yourself artistically, spiritually, and literally, because you canβt Do The Work when youβre starving.

Many things overlap in my enjoyment of #flyfishing and #rockhounding. One commonality is my love of nature's art.
Bright blush on a rainbow trout, a vibrant green jasper, camo patterned brookie with bright red and blue halos, tight wavy banding of an agate with a quartz center... Just lovely.

So people are going from "CSS isn't a programming language" to "CSS shouldn't be a programming language" ?
Truly funny how the gates are kept.

For those who love fishing
Watercolour painted onto a BC topo map - Ruth Lake in the uplands on the east side of Okanagan Lake.
As a kid, I thought, what a cool name for a fishing fly - 52 Buickβ¦so I had to paint one hereβ¦and I took a needle and thread and attached one to the painting itself.

A pile of mostly-smooth tumbled rocks. They're mostly crazy lace agate and white quartz. The crazy lace is wildly patterned with bands and blotches of red, white, yellow, orange, and light gray.
Got some really gorgeous crazy lace agate in the big barrel right now. π₯ #rocktumbling #rockpolishing #agate

The text "stop saying tomorrow" in all caps. The first two words are in red, while the final one is in white on the next row and has each letter randomly offset vertically. Each of these offset letters has grey shadows up and down tiled within the limits of rectangle that has a height equal to twice the letter height.
No splitting text into letters, no text duplication. This is a single element and #SVG #filter magic.

Good song! Video didn't want to play but I pulled it up on YT music. Immediately recognized the voice and had to dig into the catalog. Saw it right away... Love this song.

Funny enough I was thinking about how kinda corny Atlantus series was but it actually holds up better than I thought and watched it all while back. SG1 kinda gets repetitive and even the writers make a recap episode with good self deprecating jokes. Not bad though, it's something "on" π

I started watching the last Season of The Lincoln lawyer as a refresher and need to get back to it so I can start the new season. Looks good.

Screen capture displaying a notification on Inoreader asking if you want to filter duplicate posts because a series of blog titles shown are the same because the application added them void of the author using a title in the post.
Can I just say @chriscoyier.net there is something truly diabolical in promoting the use of RSS while also "breaking" readers with no titles in some of your posts. I tip my hat to you sir, well played.

octothorpes and the evolving web

Actually still had my login to Flipboard... I really did use it and its social features were a good concept.
Confirmed there is still no way to add someone's RSS. They use the protocol but don't let you just add one anymore. I don't even see how you would get your RSS feeds listed as a writer.

Nice! Do you use it as your daily driver of content and news? I've always used them at such a small scale because I relied on the algos or direct searches to bring me info.
Flipboard was my jam for a long time when I was more into it. Pretty sure I stopped using because they dropped RSS support.

Inoreader.com so far seems really well done. UI and functions even for a free account are nice.
It seems to focus on recent feeds well but also limits the way you can interact and discover old posts. Free pro trial with no payment info.
They have also sent me lots of emails already... π₯²

The IndieWeb for Everyone
Many people are looking for alternatives to Twitter. Can the IndieWeb step up? How can we build better social media for people without technical knowledge?
Reading about the indie web in a post from '22 while surfing was ironic. Got me thinking about some key issues of its growth and adoption. Which made me think "is the technical barrier to entry a bad thing or good?" π€
The web was pretty awesome when it was just us geeks. /j

I actually have a project I've wanted to finish for a long time around this but for now I just wanted to focus on breaking away from the algorithms.
The small web has also been fun too. I've already read so many articles I feel like I'd never be shown in any kinda curated feed.

Day 2 of surfing the web like it's 1999 is going well. Is this feeling just nostalgia and will fade in time?
Today's goal going to focus preservation for longevity, and growth. Making an OPML of lists to feed into Inoreader RSS reader based on vibes but not vibe coded.
