We urge the Minister of Education to reconsider the decision to remove school board trustees. Instead, let's focus on strengthening their roles to further enhance our education system. Community input and representation are critical to maintaining a robust and responsive public education framework.
Trustees play significant roles in policy development, budget allocation, and improving student outcomes. They hold the education system accountable and have brought transparency to decisions that affect our children’s futures. Removing them would centralize power and diminish community influence.

Just before the holiday break, I spoke with The Trillium about potential school closures. With concerns raised by education critics and OPSBA, it’s clear decisions must stay with local trustees. I shudder to think of Parkdale–High Park families paying the price for reckless government overreach.
