that was such a frustrating game to watch, and if you are a houston fan the major issue lately has been ime pulling reed sheppard inexplicably at key moments - he sat out the last 4 mins of the 4th.

Paxton is probably unconfirmable and that's at most a 2 year solution for a guy playing the long game and that has been gunning for this seat his whole life

FWIW I think this is *extraordinarily* dependent on whether he's running against Paxton or Cornyn since Paxton is an awful candidate that would be running in a hideous national environment. T would have more than a puncher's chance there.

He's going to be tried for war crimes at some point in the future and he's going to try to defend on the grounds that it's the wokes persecuting him yet he is out there just ... SAYING IT.

yeah, agree. like, i can see a world where that tips the scale a little in cornyn's favor. but before that announcement the fact that hunt voters were a lot more like paxton voters should have made him the favorite. and the atlantic report shouldn't affect odds THAT dramatically.

They have been selling out where I see them. They have them at the Austin Central Market on Lamar and they are often gone.

Both Olipop ***and*** Poppi have just both come out with new Shirley Temple flavors.

Discuss.

The first thing Rs are gonna have to do is give Wes Hunt something to endorse C, and they are gonna have to turn off that flamethrower they’ve been directing his way.

You are right on all of this but we have been living the Paxton nightmare for an eternity and it is just incredibly hard to imagine him dropping out in time to consolidate Rs

Ok but in the republican primary I’m going to root for the candidate that will be easier to beat and I assume that is straightforward

*candidate not ca sister

04.03.2026 17:40 πŸ‘ 8 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Ds should be rooting for Paxton and it’s not close. He is a terrible ca sister in a high salience election, and he has tons of baggage. In a D wave year a race against him is winnable. Against cornyn it is not. Control of senate hangs in the balance.

FWIW this is not in fact representative of what "local organizers" are saying. Like at all.

What in the hell is this even?

Nor was it "style over substance." Unless "HAVING A CAMPAIGN OPERATION THAT FUNCTIONS IN THE STATE'S DEMOCRATIC ECOSYSTEM" is "style."

WTF Intercept?

it's not going to be that close here, it's going to be 4-6 points, maybe even 7

04.03.2026 04:40 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

can someone forward me a good election list on here?

04.03.2026 01:32 πŸ‘ 3 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

Literally mind checked whether it was 4/1

04.03.2026 01:12 πŸ‘ 12 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah if you ask how otherwise decent people talk themselves into aligning with a Monster (Trump), look no further than the stories some fragments of the left tell themselves about how this is ok.

In fact, no, you too are the baddie, and will sacrifice any principle for power.

Excited to hear that! He’s coming to visit us in March!

he also stilted the facts to exaggerate the predicament that the DCT had been left in (in AARP, now WMM)

I don't know who this is from, but this is entry #3,683,053 in the canon of "they don't understand the art and literature they invoke"

03.03.2026 14:10 πŸ‘ 8 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Let's go Ken Paxton!

Like watching Musk try to invoke Iain M. Banks was like watching a turtle eat its own shit
