The folks at Cleverhood outfitted the @mplscargobikelibrary.com with a rain jacket library last year.

In Jan they reached out again to see if they could send jackets & bags to help our mutual aid work.

Good people, good company.

We didn’t have time to make it happen then... but now I need to find a way to let these kids try all kinds of cargo bikes.

Laura's Bunch bike is parked at school with 4 helmets in it and the raincover on. It also has LED lights in rainbow on the side.

At school pick up today one of the neighbor kids we help walked up to my friends' Tern GSD (longtail cargo bike) & started putting her stuff on his bike.

I laughed & said “That’s not our bike & I can’t fit all 4 of you in there.”

She shrugged & said “I want to try this one.”

Cannot recommend the Cargo Bike Library enough!!! It was so great to be able to try out a bike for several days to see if it works for us. Even though the Bunch wasn’t quite the right fit for us, it did allow me to get my mother in a bike for the first time in 60 years, which was awesome.

The newborn looks pretty well bundled up to us! And it was a 2 mile ride (maybe 10 minutes?).

Many Minneapolis residents bike year round. We also walk & take transit year round.

Ty! We're well & enjoying all of snuggles w/ Hans.🥰

How we design streets determines what's possible re: our relationship to outdoors, community, & health.

Thanks to @minneapolismn.gov for protected bike lanes on 26th & 28th Streets that made this trip feel safe & therefore a real option. 1/3

Her family borrowed a bike from us last fall as they were looking to evaluate which cargo bikes might best fit their needs.

I had big plans for all of the MCBL stuff I'd get done over our winter hibernation.

None of that happened bc my neighbors needed me more.

I'm starting to carve out more time to get the MCBL back up & running. I'm SO excited to share more about what we've got in store this year.

I would try to work up to doing this if I had one or checked one out from @mplscargobikelibrary.com next year. Should be able to get to SLP Costco on bike lanes. But I'd also have to have a reason to go to Costco, which I don't really. But #ETrikes for the win!

Bunch bike parked next to the Bryant Ave bikelane. Snow is on the ground and it’s very cold.

We had planned a winter hibernation to give our volunteer team time to rest.

Instead, our full team is deep in mutual aid work & several bikes are back out to help w/ community needs.

Our @bunchbike.com will help an injured bike friend join the ride for Alex Pretti tomorrow.
