yeah, i think he just has offensively bad and dated taste in jokes and i doubt he is marching with the nazis. i personally don't mind even if it is sometimes too on the nose but i completely understand if someone is offended but you kinda know what you are getting when you are buying an edmund game.

additionally tink, the kitten donation npc, is obviously a gay caricature but if you are chud enough you might trick yourself to think he is a shoe-horned diversity quota character. also tracy, the pet store npc, is some sort of liberal caricature whose dialogue someone could interpret as serious.

the issue is that some people will take that as a slight towards lgbt issues or something and others might take it to mean that edmund has gone full-on woke as in "why are there gays in my video james!!?". edmund portrays things in his centrist ways where one thing can be perceived in multiple ways.

i like how he is willing to explore dark and divisive themes and topics in various ways but his approach is a bit too reddit-y. not a complete mood kill but you can always feel that it is there. can't deny his indie success though.

i think the issue is that some people get too uncomfortable when thinking about the topic and as a survival mechanism they refuse to think any deeper. it is easier to claim that all commentary on the topic is evil than pick it apart and examine it logically. path of least resistance you know.

this was to preface that i have so far enjoyed mewgenics as an entry to his games. i have friends who have played isaac a lot so i decided to give this new entry a try because the combat interested me, reminescent of wakfu and later i learned that this is a genre of its own (srpg/trpg).

from what i've seen edmund is not chud enough for the chuds or woke enough for the wokes. i am not aware of his personal controversies but to me he appears to be very safe-edgy with a chronic case of juvenile toilet humor but it contrasts well with the constant stream of sanitized corposlop games.

it is a day after the game awards now and there were some promising titles revealed like divinity and control 2. the final reveal of the show was a bit of a letdown, highguard an f2p pvp game. i'll try it on release since it is free but if it is kernel level anticheat slop then i can't play it.

i have 4x8gb shitty ddr5 sticks so i was thinking of either selling them when the ram crisis is at its worst (the worst has yet to come) or get the valve cube ram-less version and stick them in it. i don't need an additional pc though so leaning towards selling the sticks to some unfortunate shmuck.
