I'm looking forward to it. I saw the headline of a review so I'm tempering my anticipation. But I imagine it'll be more entertaining than Frankenstein?

The search before was always hit and miss if results would return, but at least I got what I expected when they did return
Always a treat to search your own site and suddenly see secret pages turn up that *should not* be seen by anyone unless I have intentionally shared the link to you.
Do you use Squarespace to host? The recent update to site search will now surface any page that you've marked as no-index. Those unlinked pages you've got hidden from crawlers that you still want to share direct links to? You have to now password-protect them to hide them from site search.
Eesh.
When we first moved in, a surprising number of things arrived a street over. Fortunately in the last few years there haven't been misdeliveries.
This was after the overnight delivery was sent from Kansas to Indiana instead of to Iowa, so it became an over-two-nights delivery. So yeah, loving everything.
A screenshot showing Delivered (checkmark) and a black photo. Or rather, a rectangle that's entirely black, as if the delivery didn't actually happen and this was a system error.
I had a package delivered at exactly the time FedEx said it would be delivered, with this photographic proof. Suspicious. Neither my house nor the same-numbered house a street over had the package. Ninety minutes later, the FedEx truck shows up to make the real delivery.
This is a good analogy. Very useful in carefully controlled settings for specific usages, but unfortunately being widely inserted into everything and used without training or PPE and poisoning a lot of things and people and weβre going to pay a tonne of money to remove it safely in the future
I was reminded this morning lo bien que se siente tener un bigote.

One taught Spanish and driverβs ed at high school. The other ran a printing shop (think stationary, menus, business cards, wedding announcements).
These were my nine most-compelling quilts at QuiltCon.

a 3x3 grid of images of animals. Some real photos, most genAI interpretations of animals. Some are jumping, some are resting. One is ascending.
What in the GenAI captcha hellscape is this?!
(I'm the center one, ascending stiff as a board after dying because this is all terrible.)
Iβm trying to be patient, but I kinda need the Clicks Communicator to ship asap. An extension to the reservation period tells me that itβs not happening this month.*
* March is technically βlater this yearβ compared to Jan 16.
I need to massage the duplicate headers from the embed into my page, but still.
Already this Artwork Archive is paying for itself. In 30 sec on my phone I was able to remove the previous quilts and add the new ones. (If only it were that fast to hang them IRL.) Before it was probably 10 minutes to search for photos, copy/paste text, etc. on my Mac.

This is exciting! Congrats on the upgrade.
oh no!
I saw Sinners in the theater and couldn't tell you want aspect ratio it was. I still really enjoyed it in the theater and enjoyed it again at home.
The aspect ratio video if you're interested:
All these formats in theaters aren't real life options for most viewers. I watched the Ryan Coogler's aspect ratios video about Sinners and thought that the best thing about watching it at home was that the aspect ratio changed depending on the scene.
Screenshot from bill.com after a failed sign-in.
You want me to give you full photos of the front and back of my govt ID just to change my email? "Fuck off, bill dot com" he says as he deletes his account, until he has to recreate it to get paid, but this time with the current email address.
I've made it to 2022, and am just barely over halfway done with logging.
I do wish there were more options for filtering by visitors on the public page (by size, by price), not just the one I set (by creation date, most recent). But still better than me manually creating every view.
I think Artwork Archive will work well. It's not perfect, but I think it'll be way faster than what I'm doing now. I'm getting things added and have finished 2026-2024.
A passage from the book, reading: Lucy faced the situation bravely, though, like most of us, she only faced the situation that encompassed her. She never gazed inwards. If at times strange images rose from the depths, she put them down to nerves. When Cecil brought the Emersons to Summer Street, it had upset her nerves. Charlotte would burnish up past foolishness, and this might upset her nerves. She was nervous at night. When she talked to Georgeβthey met again almost immediately at the Rectory-his voice moved her deeply, and she wished to remain near him. How dreadful if she really wished to remain near him! Of course, the wish was due to nerves, which love to play such perverse tricks upon us. Once she had suffered from "things that came out of nothing and meant she didn't know what." Now Cecil had explained psychology to her one wet afternoon, and all the troubles of youth in an unknown world could be dismissed.
I greatly enjoyed βA Room with a Viewβ. This may be my favorite passage from it. Who hasnβt refused to gaze inwards and then attribute everything to nerves?
Amazing idea! I wish I had a job to help you achieve this.
100%
I'm especially intolerant when it's a quiltmaker who sells patchwork as a quilt (alongside actual quilts sold as quilts). Seriously gtfo.
I try to extend grace, but when an (illustrator) artist invites people to make paper quilts, and it's only paper patchwork (not three layers connected together), I get irrationally agitated. Words have meaning. Get off my lawn.
I was just saying I needed more Vertical Horizon music. A few weeks later, and there's a new single!

Hi, you just logged in, using a code sent to your phone. To change your email, we need to know your phone number. Then we'll send a code to your old email. And a code to the phone number (that we did indeed just verify to sign in). And then a code to your new email. Wait, come back. Tell me the code
It's going to be a busy week at The Varsity, what with Pillion this weekend and The Bride next!
