There's nowhere like Warren on a sunny day. βοΈ Yesterday, we stopped at Made in Warren on Main Street and bought a gift for my new baby cousin, Easton! Spent some time by the water with my family from Warren before meeting the Warren Dems. I loved our conversations, and thank you for having me!
On International Women's Day - I'm thinking of my late mother. Her Dad came to America and worked hard to give her a shot.
Β
She had a long career at the State Department and was proud to receive a retirement certificateΒ from Hillary Clinton. What a life π
Let's keep working for a more just future.
I grew up in a large, Irish Catholic family and St. Patrickβs Day was always a big deal! Excited to celebrate across Rhode Island this month - please join us! SlΓ‘inte! βοΈ

I had a great time in Charlestown last night. I love bringing my kids to The Umbrella Factory in the summer so it was fun to stop by last night too. We had a great discussion with the Charlestown Dems about why the AG is so critical & why I have the most experience in the office I want to lead. π
My statement on the newly-released Attorney Generalβs report:
Endorsements - UNAP backs Kim Ahern for AG (1/2)
I am truly honored to be endorsed by UNAP and to stand side-by-side in this election with Rhode Island's nurses, technologists, therapists, support staff, & other health care workers.
As RI's next AG, I will carry their trust forward in this critical fight for our health care system.

As we continue to dig our way out of this record breaking snowfall, one thingβs for sure: our family will always remember the Blizzard of 2026!
Grateful to all the first responders, city and state workers and assistance from other states helping us to dig out! π

Happy Women's History Month! Our nation has been shaped by the strength and leadership of women. Throughout my career, I've worked to uplift women's voices and ensure their stories are heard. I remain committed to building a future where every woman and girl has equal opportunity.
Great to see so many friends at SEIUβs luncheon yesterday! Congrats to Rep. Slater for the Warrior for Justice award & Jason Drapeau for the Power in Action award.
The Attorney General must be a partner to healthcare workers and unions. As your next AG, I will fight to support you.

Dem AGs just won big against Trumpβs tariffs. This is a win not only for Dem AGs, but also for RI families & businesses.
Itβs never been more important to have AGs ready to fight every dayβfor our economy, people, and democracy. As RIβs next AG, I will fight to protect RIers from bad actors.
Iβm Kim Ahern, and I represent the state of Rhode Island.

I was honored to serve under Attorney General Peter Kilmartin during his years as AG.
Peterβs focus on modernizing the office is a lasting hallmark, but it was the personal touch that I appreciated, and the fact that he always put Rhode Island first.
Happy Birthday, General Kilmartin! SlΓ‘inte βοΈ
My statement on yesterday's shooting in Pawtucket.
My heart is breaking today as we continue to learn more about another shooting in our community. Praying for the kids and families at the Lynch Arena.
On Presidentsβ Day, Iβm thinking about the best of the office: service, humility, and a promise to put the people first.
Those are the same principles Iβll uphold as Rhode Islandβs next Attorney General.
In a democracy, we elect leaders; we donβt crown them. #NoKings #TeamKim βοΈ πΊπΈ

This is the day I was sworn in as an attorney in R.I. in 2009. Justice Goldberg welcomed my parents, my then girlfriend (and now wife) Jenna and her parents to the Supreme Court. I am forever grateful to the Judge for swearing me into the RI Bar, and being a mentor to me, all these years later.
I am deeply grateful to Justice Maureen McKenna Goldberg for her decades of extraordinary service to Rhode Islandβs judiciary and to our state. Her retirement is an incredible loss for our courts, but her legacy will continue to shape Rhode Island law for generations to come. #GoldbergTrained
Black History is American History. This month and every month, we pay tribute to Black history and resilience, and must remain steadfast in our fight for racial equality and justice.
Kim Ahern, the only woman running in the crowded Democratic primary for Rhode Island Attorney General raised nearly $275,000 in the last three months of 2025, which included a maximum donation from former Gov. Gina Raimondo. By @krish-eh.bsky.social rhodeislandcurrent.com/2026/02/03/a...
Thank you @nbc10wjar.bsky.social and Gene Valicenti for having me on to share why I'm the right person for the job of AG. For me, this race comes down to who is best prepared to keep RI safe on Day One.
We donβt have time for a learning curve, and I am ready to hit the ground running. #TeamKim
Last week, I testified in support of HB7304, which would expand RI's Open Meetings Act to allow pregnant or postpartum members of public bodies to participate in meetings remotely. Thank you to House Whip @katherinekazarian.bsky.social for introducing this important bill.
Last night I was honored to return to the AGβs office to celebrate the RI Criminal Justice Hall of Fame '25 Induction Ceremony. I was proud to watch my 1st legal mentor, Supreme Court Justice Maureen McKenna Goldberg, inducted.
Congratulations to the honorees, and thank you for your service to RI!
The Rhode Island General Assembly has been a leader on issues like paid family leave, and I applaud the work of this body in making it easier for Rhode Islanders to start a family. This bill is a natural extension of that same ideal, and I urge its passage.
Thank you."
We saw firsthand how that action led to more robust and inclusive public processes, and it is incumbent on all of us to ensure our permanent rules reflect that same spirit of inclusion.
That is what inspired me to bring this idea to Whip Kazarian, and I am so grateful that she thought it had merit.
I was also proud to work for Governor Raimondo during COVID-19 when she signed an executive order enabling exactly this type of participation in remote meetings.
(cont.) or - letβs face it - you just havenβt slept in three days and donβt feel safe driving to the State House - you should still have an equal opportunity to participate in our Democratic process.
