Lily has made an amazing video about how the NYTβs slide to the right is primarily a workerβs rights issue, itβs brilliantly researched - check it out!
Not to mention the harm it inflicted by disenfranchising trans residents of Wichita and Hutch, just in time for the sales tax elections on 3/3. Still really upset about that.
Howβs the troubleshooting going? Our washing machine has stopped spinning a few times before, thanks toβ¦

Gonna miss this guy. </3 Hope he gets that second ring.
This picture is so funny
Ah geez
To put this in context, when I did my annual training in January, the election office was predicting around 7 percent turnout. 20 percent for a special election is bonkers.
Also, those results translate to about 81% no vs 19% yes.
To the founders of Wichita Forward: I hope the L hurts so much you never enter politics again.
We had 20 percent turnout for a special election, *and* we gave Wichita CEOs an electoral smackdown. Their sales tax proposal got rejected by a full 80β20 vote. They spent months lying to voters and dreaming up slush funds and making empty promises, and they got exactly what they deserved.
God DAMN what a good night it is to be alive
Some of these girls must have been the same age as my best friendβs daughters. I canβt stop thinking about that.
Working todayβs special election and somehow ended up in charge of a polling site. I think itβs all a ruse on the supervising judgeβs part to make me do his paperwork while he sleeps in the back.
Anyway, fuck Wichita Forward and vote no on the sales tax!
Based on that post in r/canadiancitizenship, I would probably qualify? Oh my god??
Holy WHAT
I know for certain I have ancestors who lived in Canada!
There, fixed it
Was up all night last night and now have to be awake in four hours so I can spend 16 hours working the special election.
Fingers crossed I donβt sleep through my alarm.

For the 11th time in program history, UConn women's basketball has finished the regular season undefeated.
One of my favourite sides of politics/media.
Something else I noticed. Videogames create stronger feelings of nostalgia than almost anything else, because they are the only places you can visit that are still exactly the same as they were at the time.

The world is burning down around us but this picture soothes me.
COVID killed two of my grandparents. I had to say goodbye to my grandpa over the phone. I cried, took a sec to calm down, and went right back to serving coffees. I never had the chance to say goodbye to my grandma. I missed both funerals.
Iβve just accepted that Iβll never have a chance to grieve.
Also, not being allowed to feel and acknowledge the collective trauma we experienced from the pandemic has definitely pushed some of us off the deep end.
Capitalism demanded we return to βnormalβ and get right back to work. No time to grieve or think about if we even wanted βnormalβ anymore.
Kitty (yes, the one in my profile pic) had a rough evening. She was straining in her litter box and then threw up several times. Sheβs since used her box and kept down food and water, and sheβs been zooming across the house. Still, I canβt sleep for fear sheβll get sick and cry for me again.
Tell me how a woman dies of sepsis. Tell me how a woman bleeds to death. Tell me about the women whose periods are so heavy they faint from blood loss every month. Tell me about the pregnant women with adhesions from untreated endometriosis, about the risks they and their babies face.
Just once, Iβd like someone to counter this tactic with stories of what happens when women canβt access the care they need.
The American Experience in 2026 is seeing several SUVs with tinted windows driving around a shopping center (which you know is frequented by BIPOC shoppers) and being convinced every single one is full of ICE agents.
