A military culture where the Secretary say he will ignore “stupid rules of engagement” leads to the US sinking what they likely knew was an unarmed ship, killing more than 80 sailors with 62 others still missing.

Does this remind anyone else of the four hours Trump spent watching the Jan. 6 violence unfold before he called it off and sent in the National Guard?

Trump is clearly hoping that Iran does in fact attack Americans on U.S. soil so that he can have a pretext for declaring martial law.

nytimes: What to know about the report.
Job growth fizzled in February, a sign of unexpected weakness in the labor market.
Employers cut 92,000 jobs in February, the Labor Department reported on Friday, and the unemployment rate rose to 4.4 percent.
The job losses cut across nearly all major sectors, including health care, which was weighed down by a nurses strike in California.

Drone strikes on Amazon Web Services facilities this week in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain highlight the vulnerability of cloud facilities — prominent symbols of US tech power in the region and hard to defend against air attack.

Fars News Agency, an outlet affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said on Thursday that Iran targeted Amazon and Microsoft facilities in recent drone strikes.

Experts say Amazon’s facilities were likely targeted by Iran. Microsoft said it had not experienced any outages in the region.

The strikes mark what is believed to be the world’s first military attack against the US “hyperscalers” that dominate the global cloud computing market.

That could create a chilling effect on the UAE and Saudi Arabia’s plans to spend billions of dollars on local AI infrastructure in the coming years, a crucial plank of the oil-rich states’ efforts to diversify their economies.

“The Iranians view data centres as part of the conflict,” said Matt Pearl, a director at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a think-tank.

Perry: This St. Patrick’s Day, don’t forget Irish music’s anti-fascist roots Dropkick Murphys, the iconic Irish American punk band, are headlining a free block party March 6 near where Alex Pretti was killed by immigration agents, contributing columnist David M. Perry writes.

NEW “We’re celebrating a tradition that is at its core about resisting occupation and maintaining community in the face of horrors. You can’t keep politics out of Irish music. No one should try, for two reasons. First, it’s ahistorical. Second, Minnesotans are ready for a big anti-fascist party.”

They fund it in Gaza. They're doing it to Venezuelan fisherman. They're doing it in Iran. They're doing it in the streets and in concentration camps to immigrants in the US. They've done it to US citizen protestors on the streets in Minnesota.

There are no limits to what they are capable of.

War is the worst of human endeavors, but the reason militaries do not fight by pure thuggery, as the United States now does, is that it ultimately puts us more at risk and defiles us as a country. What are we even fighting for if we are nothing but the biggest bully on the block?
