4th hike of 2026: Cheeseman Canyon- about 5 mi, 500ft elevation gain. Saw a bald eagle.
3rd hike of 2026: Apex Park- 4 mi, 900ft elevation gain. We got lost so didn't do the hike we intended but it was a nice day with a fresh blanket of snow.

2nd hike of 2026 but make it urban: Segment 9 of the Denver Orbital Trail- 5 mi, 266 ft elevation gain. First Orbital Trail segment! Initially great views of Longs Peak, Mt Blue Sky, and Pike's Peak but then just becomes a boring hike through the McMansions of Highlands Ranch.

28th hike of 2025: Tallman Ranch via Bridge Creek Trailhead- 3.1 miles, 531 ft of elevation gain. With book club. Sat on great rocks.
27th hike of 2025: Red Rocks Trail to Cherry Gulch Loop- 3 miles, 410 ft of elevation gain. With Paul. Lots of berries and flowers and cool plants.
26th hike of 2025: Diamond Lake Trail- 5.4+ miles, 1,220+ ft of elevation gain. With friends the morning after a rainy camping trip. We were rained on and hailed on and just missed the storm.
25th hike of 2025: Hallelujah Loop- 2.12 miles and 556 ft of elevation gain. The ground was soft and pleasant after the rain. Saw lots of chickadees, chipmunks, and hawks.
