Fossil fuels are expensive and no longer competitive with modern renewables and storage in terms of performance.
We need to be building a grid for the 21st century. Mechanical gas peaker plants, which requires ~10 minutes to respond to a grid crisis, cannot complete with electronic, grid-scale battery energy storage which responds almost instantly. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π www.utilitydive.com/news/the-phy...
Yes. From the article: "In a video BYD posted on Chinaβs social media platform Weibo, the automaker showcased a Denza Z9GT, a luxury electric wagon, charging using the companyβs new 1,500-kilowatt Flash charging station." π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π
This is Alanna Trebond quoting from the article. The image reads: "BYDβs Second-Generation Blade Battery Makes Western EV Tech Look Ancient "BYD has revealed its second-generation Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The second-generation Blade battery can charge from 10-70% in just about five minutes and from 10-97% in under 10 minutes. More impressively, the company showcased the battery charging flawlessly from 20-97% at -22Β°F (-30Β°C) in just about 12 minutes, only around three minutes slower than it charges in normal temperatures. BYD says itβs ready to go in as many as 10 production models, including the Yangwang U7, Denza Z9GT, Seal 07, Sealion 06, and more." https://insideevs.com/news/789094/byd-second-generation-blade-battery/ Inside EVs

Everything you think you know about EV charging is going to become obsolete. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π insideevs.com/news/789094/...
In addition to purchasing rooftop solar, there are several other ways that you can shift to renewable power from fossil fuels. Here are some of the methods that you can use. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π a 𧡠www.energy.gov/eere/solar/h...
There are now lots of used EVs available for <$10K. www.cargurus.com/Cars/spt-ele...
If you are an elected official, know that your constituents are interested in access to renewables and storage at the rooftop, community and grid scales. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π
If you donβt have access to this options, reach out to your legislators and encourage them to make them availableπ§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π
And another option is balcony solar, which is growing in popularity. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π www.canarymedia.com/articles/sol...
Some places allow community solar. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π www.energy.gov/eere/solar/c...
In Ohio, if you are not the customer of a municipal power company, you can select an alternative generation provider that provides 100% renewable β‘οΈ π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π www.energychoice.ohio.gov/ApplestoAppl...
There are a few options available depending on where you live. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π a π§΅
A Google search will turn up lots of sites with inexpensive used EVs. My 2020 Niro EV is currently worth about $10K-12K, but I don't plan to sell it anytime soon.
You mean like these? π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π www.cargurus.com/Cars/spt-ele...
Avoid the pump & higher fossil fuel prices - electrify your home, switch to an EV, use mass transit, or micro-mobility options. There are options available at all budget points. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π
Staggering that Willis is *still* claiming LNG is an option for long-term firming given recent events.
Renewables and GW storage is the answer.

A reminder of how incredibly accurate climate science was in the 1970s.
The term βuncertaintyβ was successfully rolled out to muddy the waters of political debate, but as far as the general trajectory of warming caused by CO2 there was *never* any uncertainty.
Weβve known about the role of COβ in warming the earth for a long time.

Yes! An excellent point. Buy in build and avoid plastic packaging where possible. Encourage companies to make use of natural packing materials.
If US O&G companies were smart, they would view themselves as Energy companies in more than name. The future is not with fossil fuels given all the economic signs. Dwindling reserves, price volatility, higher production costs relative to renewables, etc.
In the short run. In the long run, driving up oil and gas prices will further encourage the deployment of renewables and storage, which are already cheaper than fossil fuels. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π www.lazard.com/research-ins...
All this energy. Itβs always funny when folks FUD EV as bad because transit and cycling and I ask why the countries that lead on transit and cycling lead on EVs.
Fossil fuel industry friction misinformation working overtime on here some times. Thanks for including all the great options!!
Do not feed the trolls. If someone's message turns out to be "its pointless to fight emissions", they are not only incorrect, but not here for conversation.
But, but, but...who will think of the Exxon executives?
Yes but here in βMurica weβre forcing obsolete coal plants to stay open so whoβs really winning?
US industry is going to find itself without access to global markets if they continue to keep their heads in the sand. We could be competitive anywhere, but not if we don't bother to show up. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π
Or maybe you are into micro-mobility and want an e-Bike. They got that covered too. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π www.cemotobike.com/blog/Top-10-...
But perhaps you would prefer mass transit? No problem, catch the high speed bullet train. π§ͺππ‘βοΈπ¨π§π www.franklanddesign.co.uk/01-163864-wh...
