This year, the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust are asking people across the nation to light candles and put them safely in their windows to:
- Remember the darkness of the past and bring light to the future
- Stand together against prejudice and hatred today
Today, on Holocaust Memorial Day, we pause to remember the millions of men, women, and children whose lives were taken or forever scarred by the horrors of the Holocaust.
We honour their memory and commit ourselves once again to the work of compassion, justice, and peace.
A total of Β£9.9m has been agreed by the Strategic Mission and Ministry Board (SMMIB) for the next four years, with the encouragement to apply for further funding.
We are delighted to share that we have been awarded significant funding by the national church for an inspiring investment programme to resource mission and ministry in our diocese. This support will strengthen the work already taking place in our parishes, schools and chaplaincies.
Please join us in prayer for the people of Iran β for peace, for protection, for comfort for grieving families, and for hope to shine in the midst of great darkness.
We also hold in prayer those from Iran living in this country, who are deeply concerned for their loved ones.
