A white trumpeter swan drifts across the glass surface of a pond peppered with lilly pads. Stacks of submerged deadfall lie undisturbed.

A small herd of 5 bighorn sheep rams relax on a shadowed, grassy hillside with the light of a late fall evening sun illuminating a rugged mountain in the background.
New piece headed to the Briscoe Western Art Museum for their annual "Night of Artists" exhibition β opening festivities March 27th and 28th. "Base Camp," oil on linen, 18"x36".
Thanks! Yes, I work from a combination of reference photos, sketches and small oil studies done on location. All the materials I use to create my studio work, including the reference photos, are my own.
Thanks so much!
And thatβs a wrap! Every painting I created in 2025. Happy New Year everyone!!!
Thanks!
A new little one for the βNight of Artistsβ exhibition at the Briscoe Western Art Museum opening in March 2026. βThe Cold Shoulder.β 10βx12β, oil on linen.
Thanks!!!
Definitely the landscape more. At this size, the moose isnβt small enough to just suggest with a few, fun brush strokes. And heβs not large enough to really do interesting things with texture and subtlety. Heβs just hard to paint. π
Fresh off the easel, The Last Frontier,β oil on linen, 30βx40β, and headed to The Briscoe Western Art Museum for their annual βNight of Artistsβ exhibition.
Fresh off the easel and headed to Maxwell Alexander Galleryβs Black Friday Online Sale, βSnow Plow,β oil on linen, 11βx14β.
I have to admit, it would be amazing if there were snow leopards in North America. π
Thanks!
Fresh off the easel and headed to Trailside Gallery for their βDeck the Wallsβ holiday miniatures show. βHigh Country Bighorn,β oil, 14βx11β.
Thanks!
Going a ways back for this one, "Summer's Last Stand," oil on linen, 18"x24", created in 2016.
It does. It's hard to believe β even when standing there looking at it.
Here's a pic I took of the Alaskan landscape in the Fall from the Denali Highway. Hopefully it brings just a little wonder to your day.
Thanks!
My canvas is always toned with a sepia (warm light brown). Thanks for the kind words!
