again, that map aligns with historical red lining and communities of color.

yet, that doesn't completely align with Manhattan rates.

i'm surprised that you're calling out safe streets advocates and not the fundamental structure / data of insurance / racism + transit policies.

the map you highlighted is an interesting point of contention.

the darker the color, the fewer safe streets treatments in NYC.

with that in mind, the quote is accurate. safer street design, seems to lower premiums.

i also wonder if race has something to do with expensive premiums.

Gee, American and Venezuelan oil barrels are going to be fetching a pretty penny.

I can't help but think this was the primary subplot all along.

Every @democrats.org who is part of this "bipartisan" push needs to never work in politics again. Yes, let's give fascists MORE TOOLS to track down the people they don't like, all in the name of "protect the kids." Pretty much anyone sentient right now can see the chasm between what is true and what is legal. With the waters muddied by legacy media’s soft touch and AI peddlers’ hard sells, it can be hard to parse out the difference between what is true, and what feels true, on top of what people might like to be true, what a plagiarism robot says is true, what the regime says is true, and on and on. Any time we cater to anything or one outside what we know to be true, our shared reality, and the ties that bind us to it and to one another, are diminished.

I'm soo looking forward to hearing @novicsara.bsky.social memoir.

Why government software is so expensive. In government, $100 million is not a shocking price tag for a large software project. The question I get all the time about this is, simply: Why?

Blog entry: Why government software is so expensive.

In my experience, there are four major reasons: outsourcing the whole thing, the pricing death spiral, funhouse-mirror price tags, and procurement processes that don't favor quality development.

Who should pay for the climate crisis that we're in? How about the climate arsonists who are lighting the world on fire?

So the Fascist-in-Chief is Making America Great Again!!

Thanks. I'm still leading @beta.nyc β€” the transition team was a temporary advisory position.

I'd love to host a conversation about this report and what Americans can learn from it.

I'm going to read the report thinking about municipal media.

To give further context, our son’s pulmonologist pushed the β€œdisability” coordination team to see that d/Deaf kids need access to their HANDS to communicate. Which means, minimize IVs, Pulse/Ox, & other things on hands! Also, KNOW which is the kid’s signing hand AND ask the parents when in doubt.

For current, future patients at NYU, our family is pushing every visit to ensure d/Deaf kids are seen & taken care of.

Good things are happening

i'm not looking forward to tomorrow.

yet, i have to wake up in a few hours and put on the best dad face to carry my 3 year old son into a surgical suite.

while this is just a sedated controlled procedure, i still have a shit-ton of trauma from when i performed CPR on him at 6 weeks old.

Apparently, the current occupant of the White House saw it as a visioning session.
