David Byrne review – in life during wartime, this show will restore your faith in humanity Byrne again reimagines the possibilities of the live gig, creating a vision of egalitarianism backed by elastic bass and polyrhythms

This was superb. Well done David Byrne. It was such a clever & feel good show. So brilliant that I have booked to see it again in July & this time I shall take my 17 year old daughter who had never heard of Talking Heads but is now being educated fast.

Liking the beach that has landed in my garden and on my car today in Bath, UK. Or is it dust stirred up from all the wars. #sahara

Station sign at Bath today says all train tickets are "off peak" this week. No mention when you buy using their app last week! Spoke to train manager & he said yes the app is bad, but it's no worse than any other train service app!! Great strap line: "We are no worse than any other train company!"πŸ˜‚πŸ˜±

Just nipped to my local Garden Centre to get some advice on how to hang the baubles on my Christmas Tree. They told me to try another branch ... πŸŽ…πŸ»πŸ˜‚ Merry Christmas!

Staff to be encouraged to join union under new employment bill Bosses will be legally obliged to let workers know they have the right to join a union to stop hostile employers discouraging membership

So @teamlabouruk.bsky.social want growth. Running a business for 20 years & I am clearly not a 'working person'. They have taxed me through NI increases, pension relief, dividends, inheritance tax, savings, mansion tax because I did my house up, oh & also entrepreneurial tax 'if' I finally retire.

"Core inflation, which excludes energy, food, alcohol and tobacco prices, rose by 3.4 per cent, down from 3.5 per cent in September." Says @thetimes.com ... So it is still prices going up and the exclusions are what affects most people anyway!

Collins Dictionary informs us that 2025’s β€œword of the year” is β€œvibe coding”, the amateur practice of using AI to write computer code. I love watching how our use of words has changed over the years ... but I still don't understand what a 'meme' is!

Big research on why Skipping is not an Olympic sport, why it is so efficient (does one leg get a rest while the other does 2 steps?) and why grown adults don't skip more into town or to get a bus! We also concluded it is impossible to be sad while skipping!

If you have a new conker & beat someone who has a three’er. Does yours become a four’er, or do you become a one’er.
Much dispute over this rule here!
I believe the former, but that could mean eventually someone’s conker could become a 5 million, 4 hundred thousand, & forty two’er! What say you?

Government intervenes in plan to build stadium in the centre of Bath β€” Somerset Live The plans go before the council's planning committee next week β€” but the government has told it not to grant planning permission without 'specific authorisation'

Are you serious?! After millions have been spent getting to this point ... This will not end well, similar to Dyson walking away from his Bath University of Innovation idea ... @bathsupporters.bsky.social apple.news/ARO6tXEhWQ9O...

If you know me well, you will know I love the outdoors & one of my quotes says "no creative idea ever happens at a desk"! Well, tomorrow, I have been invited to attend, with an open mind, an outdoor 'untamed off-grid session' with some other people, mostly unknown to me. I shall report back.
