Wasteland-ification, Gaza as template. Seems to have been on point. Horrifying.

“As a labor leader, [O’Brien] should be disqualified…. Donald Trump has done nothing to help the working class, only the people in the Epstein class.”
I’ve started sayin “He’s wearing a wire!” when I see these glasses.
One man overheard and pulled them off. 😭😭😭

I have only just recently started digging into data centres and water, and the way companies are hiding vital information is beyond belief. It is so, so dodgy.
The entire project to widely popularise the idea these concerns are "fake" makes so much sense in this context
A title graphic for this week's Labor Notes Podcast episode: "Organizing is an antidote to Despair."
Labor Notes Pod: The antidote to despair, even now, is organizing. From autoworkers in Chattanooga winning their first contract to the trolleybus operators in Mexico City preparing to go on strike, there are pockets of labor everywhere building momentum

Gazans displaced to Al-Mawasi tent city describe having to walk long distances to fetch water from far points, not being able to find flat spaces to pitch tents, and there being no health facilities.

*BLACKROCK’S $26 BILLION PRIVATE CREDIT FUND LIMITS WITHDRAWALS
This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

The WA House just approved a bill streamlining permit requirements for Sound Transit projects, after defeating a number of Republican amendments watering down the bill.
The vote was 56-38.

"Anthropic has much more in common with the Department of War than we have differences."
Ai boosters are misinformation peddlers who have been lying about this since 2023 when they lied and said gpt 4 tricked a Taskrabbit into solving a captcha (it didn’t do this btw). These lies have enriched other liars and killed people and they are responsible

The report highlights the grim state of freshwater ecosystems, degraded marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and the risk of extinction for many species. But it also emphasizes the potential for improvement through conservation, restoration, and renewed connections between people and nature.
It’s not disingenuous to point out that the NYT did not run a single front page story of the Minab bombing. You don’t dispute this claim because it’s true. And the story that you reference on your webpage does not attribute blame to US/Israel and frames it as an allegation by “Iranian state media”
I wrote about how the US and Israel carried out an attack on an Iranian girls school on par with the OKC bombing and US media relegated it to a back page story. No stand alone evening news segments, no front page stories, it made A11 in the NYT then everyone moved on.
Awesome database published by my @propublica.org colleagues where you can look up financial disclosures of over 1,500 of Trump's appointees. #NICAR26 data nerds will appreciate this one! projects.propublica.org/trump-team-f...

CNN: Approval for President Trump's East Wing ballroom project – from a government commission that oversees planning for federal buildings and land in the nation's capital – is delayed after it received over 32,000 comments from the public overwhelmingly opposing the construction.
Correction. Orwell never said this. He did however, warn that: "political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” (That's Politics and the English Language, one of my favorite essays)
