Visited Sam A. Baker State Park for a quick fall overnight backpacking trip. Really nice oak/pine old growth. Told some spooky stories about gap dynamics and mesophication around the campfire.
Lasers in the woods! Still stumbling through learning how to best use this new technology.
Absolutely stellar couple of days remeasuring the Kaskaskia Woods old growth in #SoILL on the Shawnee NF.
Next step is to follow up with terrestrial LiDAR this winter.
