normal unarmed attack, on hit can grapple instead of doing damage (unless you have grappler feat), then Dex/Str saving throw against grapplers DC 8 + Str (or Dex if Monk) mod + PB
then normal contest (ath / acro) to escape

tbf to him, initial grapple contest is a fair bit harder in 2024 as the graplee than 5e (easy acrobatics out of it still though thank goodness)
