Socialise with your Pack, not bait. ๐ฌ https://wildhq.org/ ๐ In semi-public alpha: https://packbase.app/ โ Registration is open (c) @wildhq.org - 100% volunteers, not a company. Packbase is still in alpha and can change.
only if you're fine with bugs
We're seeing multiple components recovering nicely!
Some components are still failing and may say rate limited. We've made some large changes to our backend recently that should prevent this in the future, but we may be forced to release Alpha 11 earlier than expected if we want those live.
WKYP.
Packbase is currently a target of a DDoS attack and may be unstable. We're working on it! ๐ซก
We're looking for someone to help us manage our community channels as it's just Rek right now. If you have //any// experience with doing so, please shoot us a message!
Thanks!
(WIP)
We want to make using Packbase a little easier for those used to a site like SoFurry or FurAffinity. This one's actually live right now, but hidden. You can see a (very early prototype) of a gallery view by appending /media to your profile's URL.
Now for the stuff we're working on!
We need quite a bit of feedback on these - what bothers you about current solutions, what you wish to see us do, etc etc.
Please go to the blog for these. We'll post one here in the thread below.
This one is large so we recommend going to the blog post instead.
Some LLMs have "magic strings" that stop the model from continuing it's response once it's said. Packbase appends this in the <head> of the page *on the server itself* so there's no way to bypass it from Packbase's link alone.
If your device or browser has reduced motion on, Packbase will now adhere to it in most (soon all) places. Sorry this wasn't added sooner :(
We've refreshed the account pop-out so that it confirms with you whether or not you want to sign out, as well as unify the "Change what?" prompt.
Ideally you wouldn't be asked what you want to change, but we're still working on unifying both modals. Sorry for the shit UX </3
Not a lot of people enjoyed notifications in a sidebar, so we've moved them into a pop-out next to the search button:
We're still trying to figure out a way to switch between Packs. We're now trying out tabs, this way you can control what Packs you want to switch between and hide the lesser-used ones in the New Tab page.
If all else fails, we'll go back to the Slack/Discord-based design prior to the UI refresh.
It was asked for a lot more than I thought!
Rehowling boosts howls by other members to your followers and default pack! We'll add rehowling into specific packs you're a member of later, don't worry!
ICYMI, you can howl videos! They can be as long as you'd like. You can mix videos with images with no worries, but videos may appear smaller if you do so.
Howls have a 15GB upload limit (1GB per asset), or 1TB/howl for void users. Total assets has been bumped to 100.

The update compilation for Jan/Feb is finally here. Let's just jump in:
Wildbase is now Wild HQ - Nothing changes. We're still independent, still 100% volunteers. We want to show people what the internet can be without VC involved, and nothing can change that.
who up packing their base
chop chop goo boy
omg blush
We're back online - thanks for waiting!
The outage was caused by our server host, alongside our provider ensuring compliance with how we manage your sensitive data (logins, phone#, emails, etc.)
Both outages were unrelated, it was just a poor coincidence.
We're experiencing major issues with high latency, with most requests timing out.
More information: status.wildhq.org/incident/828...
๐ฌ We're testing another way on organizing and accessing your Packs - this time, they're now right at the top as tabs (or on the bottom in a swipe-up drawer)!
Please let us know what you think :3

๐ We're de-prioritising Discord as a community channel. It will be delisted from Wildbase's site, and moved to a separate part of Packbase later today.
We have a Community Hub on Packbase, a forum, and a Root Community. Please read the whole announcement here: blog.packbase.app/post/6/chang...
๐ง We've pushed a fix that may help resolve some issues with being stuck in onboarding. If you're still getting this, please let us know. Thanks!
few things were fixed:
- Howl pages not correctly rendering howls
- Notifications should now be loading fine
- Unable to view feeds signed out
- Funding page being too corporate/begging sounding
- Guest landing page not having much information on it - it's been revamped. I ain't a marketing guy!
I'm not trying to "enshittify" Packbase by limiting what browser you can use, it was purely informational but I admit it's confusingly worded, sorry!
I'd take people making browser-specific bug reports that'd sit in limbo for a while than people thinking we're cutting access off entirely.

๐๏ธ The browser not supported is disabled.
I'm sorry it's come across that non-chromium based browsers were completely disallowed. That dialog was there so people would test in another browser first, and that it's the browser mostly used when developing. I do not have browser tests in place.

โ We're investigating an issue with Notifications not being sent to users: status.wildhq.org/incident/822...
As always, this account's DMs are open, our Discord is in our bio, or:
- Join our Community Hub and ask anything in #support: packbase.app/p/packbase
- Email rek@wildhq.org for anything else, or just to say hi.
Wow, okay, hi new peeps!
While we're not a true replacement to something like Discord, we're extremely thankful you all decided to give us a shot! Our chat rework (yes, we have a barebones chat) is on the way ๐ซก
We'll be setting up a forum to be a replacement for those leaving Discord for good.
๐ We have now surpassed 2 months since this has been in effect. The notices letting you know of the change will no longer appear on Packbase and has been stripped from our Terms (nothing is required on your end for that).
I'll see you in a bit for January's update :3
