Quote from Dave Rapin, Foundar at Curling IO: βBEAM was the killer feature. None of these other options came close to what the BEAM VM offers: rock-solid concurrency, fault tolerance, and proven scalability. Gleam gives us BEAM on the backend with familiar functional patterns on the frontend, all in a single language.
They were looking for:
- Type safety
- Massive concurrency
- Functional patterns
- Shared types
- Proven at scale
And Gleam checked every box!

Thoroughly enjoyed the first Gleam conference! Hoping we can have another one in the future π€
Thank you again for letting me ramble on about WebAssembly π
Genuinely my favourite conference I've attended so far. It was brilliantly organised, all the talks were amazing, and it was such a pleasure to talk to everyone and finally meet people in person who I had only known online.
Definitely will be back for Gleam Gathering 2027!
Still buzzing after Gleam Gathering. It was so good!
What an incredible community Gleam has. π
Navy background, pink headline "New ways to support Gleam!"; below the headline there's a graphic that shows screen of the "Sponsor" page from gleam.run and its text: "Sponsorship and donations. Support Gleam's development by sponsoring us! he Gleam project" and the description as well as 3 pink buttons: Github Sponsors, Bank Transfer, Liberapay.
Thanks to one of the discussions at the #GleamGathering, we decided to add more options to support Gleam development financially: now you can do it via direct bank transfer β

It had everything you could wish for and more: from trains and chess to galactic fintech and printing on POS.
Amazing testament to how far we, as both the language and the community, have come in less than two years from the v1 release β
Another milestone achieved: Gleam had its first conference!
Thank you, @crowdhailer.bsky.social and Laura, for organising the #GleamGathering 2026 and bringing together dozens of Gleamlins in one place π©·
