🇲🇹 The AMI-trap consists of UV and white lights for attracting and photographing nocturnal insects, containing high-capacity data storage to collate images over long sampling periods. Due to the saline marshlands attracting Lepidoptera, Il-Magħluq ta’ Marsaskala is an ideal site for its deployment.

AudioMoth is an acoustic recording device that captures sounds from the surrounding environment and applies recognition models to detect and identify. Xrobb l-Għaġin Nature Park was selected for the use of this technology due to the high abundance of Acrididae species recorded within the area.

💡 As part of the MAMBO project, pollinator cameras were deployed at the Majjistral Nature and History Park, since the site has an abundance of flowering plants typical of Mediterranean garrigue habitat.

🇲🇹 Majjistral National Park is located in Mellieħa, Malta, and protects a 6-kilometre stretch of coastline designated as a Special Area of Conservation within the Natura 2000 network. Its diverse habitats support a variety of endemic and rare plant and animal species.

💡 These efforts link fieldwork with remote sensing, creating a model that allows biomass and carbon content to be estimated accurately, demonstrating the potential of MAMBO tools for rewilding and habitat monitoring.

🇬🇧 At the Strawberry Hill demonstration site, the UK MAMBO team combined demonstrations, field sampling, and remote sensing to improve the estimation of shrub biomass and carbon content.
