Don’t mind disagreement if it’s genuine and people have different opinions but ones with experience. But I can’t see the issue I raised being addressed. As someone who grew up on a council estate, who is to the left, all I can say is the modern left doesn’t attract working class people anymore.

I am to the left. And compromise is always required. Sadly, there’s a bunch of people who are puritans and nothing else will do.

Decision making need to be made in the interest of customers and the railway. We've already seen it with the ECML timetable, that those decisions aren't happening - see Northallerton with the DEC timetable change.

Also see Southport services, which should've been diverted to MCV as part of the Manchester task force. But that would've limited connectivity.

Rail user groups & local stakeholders want direct services to every location, which isn't realistic or possible and usually flows are minimal at best!

One of the biggest risks from plans that TfGM have put forward previously is the impact of connecting communities into Cheshire, Derbyshire, Merseyside and Yorkshire. Letting politicians dictate timetables and routes is a disaster waiting to happen, without thought of what they are proposing.
