Finally posted something on the bsky hammer page! I was interested in how Valve somehow lit up these windows without having a unique texture or blend. Ended up being an actual light used, which is way more controllable.
Used on the new Train remake in #cs2, these windows use the Transmissive Backface Ndotl feature in the Csgo_Complex shader. This allows lights to pass through the backfaces while also lighting up the glass mesh itself. Very neat trick!
