Not sure how I feel about my most common commit message lately being "refactor"

It's a new year and I'm back at it again. This is the one. Watch this space.
All the best to those making the dream happen.

Lol yeah, as a solo founder the work never really stops.
I've had quite a few of those over the last couple months. Always feels like I'm wasting time when my hands aren't on the keyboard. Have to remind myself that going slow now (thinking) means going even faster later.
Nice. Flutter is awesome. I'm generally not a fan of mobile development but flutter actually makes it quite fun.
Yeah we created a private github app for use within our github organization. So the app has access to all our repos.
Looking forward to hearing some replies here. So far I cache responses. Makes sense for my use case.
Oh no, I'm in very dangerous territory of launching too late.
Why? Because I'm considering implementing dark mode.
Waste of time, yes.
Needed for launch, no.
Please send help.

So psyched to be on leave this week. Time for full focus on my side hustle.
Hey there, you can do it if you use github copilot. There's a setting in your copilot section within github to enable it. Then within vscode you can choose which LLM you want to use, one of which will be claude.
Sometimes coding with a copilot is so fast that I feel like I need to spend time faffing around with something to fill in the time I would have otherwise spent typing something out manually.
And that leads us to why I'm here posting this now.
Every day Monday to Friday. After 43 years on this earth and a significant number of those sitting at a computer, I've found that both exercise and mobility is super important.
True true. But I'm expecting to reach Netflix scale by next Thursday, so I probably want to over optimize all the things, and spend no time on marketing ๐
Yeah, but not cheaper in terms of complexity. Dealing with cache invalidation, old data and hard to reproduce bugs are something I try to avoid.
But yes,...I'll probably end up having to go that route.
I'm facing a dilemma between wanting to reduce potentially costly api calls versus prematurely caching everything in sight.

Sometimes you need to go slow so you can go fast later.
I spent most of today planning, figuring out architecture stuff. I'm now confident in my approach to the new #sidehustle
Ready to go fast.
I find myself smiling when my AI copilot tells me my solution is creative, elegant and robust.
Seeking validation from a robot. Me? Never!

Nothing better than finding an elegant solution to a coding problem that you've been struggling to crack.
No surprise why sales and marketing always take a back seat to coding,...to our own detriment.

Busy setting up my new macbook pro. Hasn't taken too long so far to get up and running.
Anyone have any tips and tricks to getting up and running quickly instead of manually setting everything up based on my old macbook.
Things like #vscode #iterm2 useful macos apps etc.
Eleventy fans, do you use eleventy-img and keep your images in the repo? What about repo size over time? Anyone do something else, like use R2 or a cdn for images rather?

So I spent an hour failing to get something working on an old codebase. Eventually figured out I was looking at an old version of a 3rd party package docs.
Just another day.

Wow I just can't love frontend dev. Likely a me not you problem,..but still.
Today I spent 3 hours just trying to get a layout with 2 columns, some content, and a header bar with some dropdowns. To look half decent.
Me + frontend = zero productivity
This is for a side project, so I'm not looking at pricey options like Azure, Aws etc.
#indiehacker friendly options.
What's everyone using for a managed #postgres cloud provider? I've historically used digitalocean. But I'm keen to to give #hetzner a try for my new project and they don't have a managed db offering.

Nightmare. No thanks.
Right on. 5am is tough when the rest of the family is asleep, and nothing we're building has any real traction yet. Keep at it, eventually the dream will become reality,....at least that's what I keep telling myself.
AI coding copilots are awesome for productivity, but we can't rely on them completely. Our jobs and engineering skill sets are safe.
Today I spent hours debugging a bug related to iframes and cookies. Chatgpt and Claude failed to figure out the root cause. I begrudgingly used my brain instead.
Same same. Let's do this!
