I'm thinking of bans on previously available care, not barriers to introducing new treatments. Caims of poor evidence hold up new treatments, but once a treatment is on the market I'm not aware of any being restricted bc of claims the evidence wasn't high quality, only for evidence of harm.
I mean, I agree it should be disqualifying - but I don't live in Maine and it doesn't seem to be disqualifying for Maine voters, and they're the ones who get a say. I disapprove of their not taking it more seriously, but that's all I can do.
"Probably not that great a guy/gal" includes basically anyone who wants to be a US Senator. If I lived in Maine I wouldn't vote for Platner in a primary but I wouldn't hesitate to do so in a general election vs Collins.
I think Graham Platner lied about his tattoo, has terrible judgement, and Maine deserves better. I doubt that he's a Nazi. I think it's reasonable to hope he'll be a better senator than Susan Collins.
I would really like to live in a world where you can like or dislike someone without it meaning you endorse/hate everything about them and their work and that you're declaring yourself on team For or Against that person.
