5/5 Biggest lesson at 40: Life is limited by the hard conversations you're willing to have.
2025 goals: more running, gymnastics, growing the team, and always family first. Here's to what's next! π
4/5 2024 @frontendmasters.com wins: New course player, homepage refresh, Enterprise SSO, "Frontend to Fullstack" newsletter (500k+ readers!), 150+ blog posts. All possible with renewed energy and focus. π
3/5 At 35, health transformation changed everything. From back pain to backflips (did one on stage for 1000+ people!). 550+ miles run in 2024, daily cold plunges, VO2 max from 37 to 45. Better health = better leadership. πββοΈπ§
2/5 Early 30s: transitioning from solo founder to running a company while raising 4 kids. The pressure was real. By 35, we'd built something amazing with an incredible team. The cost? My health took a hit from the non-stop work. πͺ
1/5 Turning 40 & reflecting on a decade of @frontendmasters.com: From strip mall beginnings to beyond my dreams. The foundation? Technical skills, community (60+ talks!), writing skills & business fundamentals. Key lesson: Build diverse skills early! π
@davatron5000.bsky.social hey dave been trying to get ahold of you -- do you want a frontend masters backpack?

Yep. I held all the world records in that game when the world was locked down. Here's my YouTube channel from those days! www.youtube.com/channel/UC5W...
Super meat boy β arguably the most difficult 2d platformer ever. Absolutely aggravating game I wanted to break the TV but still kept playing for some reason. I got the Golden god achievement 100%'d the game.
Absolutely!

I went mostly dark ~7 years ago. But now trying to figure out how to use social for business stuff because itβs the majority of peoplesβ time. Necessary evil of having a career/business in 2023 is learning to deal with it in whatever way you have to. π€·ββοΈ
We hoped social media would be a way to share and connect with others but instead it incentivizes attention seeking behavior and kicking up arguments.
