The Senate HELP committee is holding a hearing this AM on the "dangers" of mifepristone. Mife has been safely & effectively used by millions since the FDA approved it in 2000, but we likely won't hear about that today.

Literally by definition "viability" limits ARE gestational limits, as in they limit your ability to get an abortion if you are past a certain gestational duration.

100% sympathetic with trying to get nuances across in formats that aren't easily designed for nuance!
My personal pet peeve is saying states don't have bans when they have post-18 weeks bans, when we randomly decided we're ok with banning abortion. But understand not everything can be captured!
Love me a map! But just a friendly reminder, that many of the states marked "legal" have later-gestational bans, which means that for folks later in their pregnancies, abortion is not in fact legal.

Ezra- Your piece on the death of Charlie Kirk was reckless, insulting, condescending, and worst of all, a piece of hagiography. For someone who claims to honor history and context in your work, it reads as if it was written by someone who respects neither of those things. What does it mean to practice politics in the "right way"? For whom does a "taste for disagreement" benefit? Certainly not the vulnerable populations—trans people, Black women, and more—who Kirk routinely targeted with hate speech and calls for violence. When I was a college intern at NBC News Washington in 2008, I would watch your MSNBC appearances on the monitor in our office. At that point I could only dream of having a platform like yours, which has grown exponentially since then. Now that I have a platform (albeit it much, much smaller than yours) and I couldn't fathom using it to gaslight the country into believing a hateful man stood for a public good. Maybe it's time to consider how you're using yours. Marisa

Are we doomed to a demographic destiny of decline because ladies aren't having babies? No.
We've been here before. It turns out that population projections only describe one of many possible futures. Our actual future is still to be written.
Why would anyone do that??

But we also captured big changes, particularly in the Southeast, where Florida's six week ban led to many more people traveling out of state for care.
Everyone deserves access to abortion care in their communities via their preferred method, whether that is an in clinic procedure, via telemedicine, or abortion pills sourced form a community network. Any restrictions that limit people's choices are unjust. Full stop.
Mass deportations is a reproductive justice issue.
Bodily autonomy is impossible if you are afraid to leave your house, afraid to pick your kids up from school, afraid to see your doctor.
