I was putting some thoughts down this morning and it turned into a little post. Embracing more of these “micro-essays” and not putting the pressure to flesh things out more than they need to. Anyways: cameronfrench.co/posts/2026/0...

Added a Now page to my site. cameronfrench.co/now/
Everything is apparently accelerating because of AI but I'm over here just wanting to slow down.
I’ve been encouraging my friends to consider the importance of publishing on your own site and owning your data. When all your writing lives on a centralized service like Substack (and living inside an algorithm machine), there’s a risk involved. Anyways, this is fun: www.blogsareback.com
"A 13-hour interruption to Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) operations in December was caused by an AI agent, Kiro, autonomously choosing to “delete and then recreate” a part of its environment, the Financial Times reported." 😬😬😬
Confession: I update my bio way too much. I tend to overthink it.
For those that use @obsidian.md, and you use the clippings feature, do you find yourself saving not just the URL, but also all the text (for something like an article)? Feel like this is probably ideal.

Ay, that's fun! Thanks. And yes, these things are on the to-do list. 😂
Okay, yes. fontreviewjournal.com/agipo/
Also, shout out to The Index newsletter from @piccalil.li for pointing the way.
Been trying the Arc browser.
I don't know yet.
Nice! Need to add a dark mode to my site still...
I suppose I need to work on my <meta> description.
Maybe I’m having a Sontag moment (to a degree). Does the camera distance ourselves from actual reality? This is what I’m wrestling with. cameronfrench.co/posts/2026/0...
Somebody today said that they "old-school Googled it" because Gemini kept giving them an error.
They found their answer.
So apparently just querying the search and finding it yourself is now old school?
It seems that for those that use cameras like Leica and Fuji, the camera itself becomes the primary focus, an ornament of sorts, rather than the work that’s being created while using the camera.
Sorry, Leica. I will not be spending almost 10k for a lens.
Built a new site using @11ty.dev and it was truly a lot of fun – as it should be! 👉 cameronfrench.co
LinkedIn is such a visual mess. I will say that I tend to see the things I want to see (like updates from people I actually follow). But damn, that interface is so bloated.
