the thing is i was starting to give evening news a chance again a few years ago. i just hit my 40s recently so these networks had an opportunity. non stop news was tiring. evening news like when I was a kid seemed nice and I wanted it to be neutral. then this happened and nope. forget that idea.
Every anti-vaxxer I encounter seems to love weird unregulated supplements. They hate Big Pharma but they love Little Pharma, Big Pharmaโs younger sibling who grew up without any adult supervision.
The drunk uncle theory.
You donโt argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows thereโs safe people and better possibilities out there
I see that only a tiny fraction of you, my Bluesky friends, also follow @jeopardyofficial.bsky.social on here. Why not go follow right now? My guess is the more eyeballs we get here, the more attention we can give Bluesky relative to other social media platforms!
A prominent Bluesky elder already hosts Jeopardy
read this book in less than 2 sittings. In my top 10 of all time no question.
what a riveting glimpse into 2 women who no doubt changed India. Roy brings you into her world and the world of her mother.
yuppp
unfortunately, as i listen to 2 min of the Noem press conf I dont put it beyond this admin to manufacture a crisis once the gov shuts down cause they couldn't get everything their way.
noem mentioned cyber security and electrical grid vulnerabities. everything they say is a clue.
the wildest part is neither of these guys were raised in America lol and dont feel any patriotism. the country is irrlevant as long as also get to make the rules. they literally spent early life in apartheid Africa and prob only left cause white ppl couldn't do whatever they wanted anymore
unfortunately you have to stop these crazies way earlier but the American system of checks & balances failed. congress should have stepped in before Thiel bought an entire politician AND def before a president could let a different billionaire gut parts of the govt & access info about its citizens
this is a very cool thing to do and also highlights one of the biggest keys to Zohran's appeal: he just thinks New York City is really neat
people who live somewhere want to vote for someone who likes it there and wants to make it better, not someone who wants to use it as a springboard
JUST IN: Democrats flip a red seat in the Texas Senate.
Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards.
With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43.
Trump won this seat by 17% in Tarrant County.
this scene was wild!
been watching Schitt's Creek episodes while doing chores today and 10/10 recommend
The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll
interesting to watch ppls reaction to the epstein files. I believe the prominent guys named in them are guilty AF. whether they are guilty of each specific detail is irrelevant. yall they are dudes with way too much $. THATS IT. also who knows if we'll ever know the full list
im baaaack after a long break. prob not the right move for late night scrolling but here we are
I'm so mentally exhausted. Got invited to a networking event and was like yeah no I need like at min 72 hrs notice so I can prepare myself to show up and actually be ready to talk to people about work, after work. Good Lord

Besides the obvious factual issues with this what in the actual hell with this fragility?!! Oh my, you may have been asked to *try* & use a more inclusive word. The penalty for not using it was prob literally nothing- maybe being viewed as a dick. Rightfully so. But no too far, too radical. GTFOH
This mfer stay flexing
This is just so cool
This entire rundown is depressing. Cause it continues to prove what so many of us already know but what some ppl still don't grasp. There is no due process in America anymore & trying to undo intense harm if you caught up in this shit is going to be very slow, cause the govt can ignore courts now
I mean yeah, exactly
Oh wow although at this point it'll prob just confirm things we already knew to be basically true lol
I'm so ashamed of my alma mater University of Michigan particularly after seeing Harvard stand up for things and I hate giving Harvard credit for anything !
Michigan had close to a $20 BILLION endowment in 2024 and they caved on dei before a letter came. What cowards
Criminals deserve due process because due process is literally how we determine whether someone is, *in fact*, a criminal
I think the degeneracy and cowardice of american elites is more to blame though. Trump properly perceived large swaths of the elites on both sides of the aisle believed in nothing and would fold at the first sign of pressure.
On a day when the administrationโs conduct hit stunning new lows, itโs really important to see institutions like Harvard (represented by major law firms) stepping up to fight back
