Anti-Trans Democrats Blown Out In North Carolina Primary Election Anti-trans Democrat Nasif Majeed lost to Veleria Levy, who ran on a pro-LGBTQ+ platform. Other conservative Democrats lost as well on primary day.

1. In yesterday's primary elections, anti-transgender Democrats found out the hard way why you don't throw transgender people under the bus.

Two anti-trans dems lost their primaries, including one that cast the deciding veto override vote, in blowouts.

God. Cheese. Burger. An exercise in ecstatic American theology

When I first saw Applebee's advertisement for the O-M-Cheeseburger, I was terrified. I trembled. I cowered. Then I opened my heart to it. Here is what it revealed to me. johnpaulbrammer.substack.com/p/god-cheese...

Excerpt from a BBC article: ""We usually work, 10, 11 or 12 hours a day," says a 49-year-old woman from Jiangxi unwilling to give her name. "On Sundays we work around three hours less."

She is in an alleyway, where a dozen people are huddled around a row of bulletin boards.

They are reading the job ads on the board, while examining the stitching on a pair of chinos draped over it.

This is Shein's supply chain. The factories are contracted to make clothes on order - some small, some big. If the chinos are a hit, orders will ramp up and so must production. Factories then hire temporary workers to meet the demand their permanent staff cannot fulfil.

The migrant worker from Jiangxi is looking for a short-term contract - and the chinos are an option.

"We earn so little. The cost of living is now so high," she says, adding that she hopes to make enough to send back to her two children who are living with their grandparents.

"We get paid per piece," she explains. "It depends how difficult the item is. Something simple like a t-shirt is one-two yuan [less than a dollar] per piece and I can make around a dozen in an hour.""

The people who make Shein's clothes labor for ten to twelve hours per day (in violation of China's labor laws), some up to seven days a week, and earn as little as 15 to 30 cents per t-shirt.

We're also seeing cops using the exact same violent tactics against the anti-ICE protests that they used in 2020, and I distinctly remember reading something about how cops were supposed to stop techniques like kettling πŸ€ͺ

A β€œshift” never happened. A chaotic raid at a worksite and a warrantless sweep in our communities have the same outcome. Bullshit rhetoric aside, they’re hunting us down while we’re trying to feed you.

Who’s actually in charge?

Gal Gadot has personally criticized people who have called for a ceasefire. She used her military service to promote an image of herself as a badass when really she's just been a mouthpiece for the IDF.

Her being an aerobics instructor makes her pride even weirder imo

as someone who’s worked in the service industry, every job ive had at a small business has been more exploitative and abusive than the ones at corporate joints. trumps biggest base of support is from petty tyrant small business owners. if you want to consume ethically, support worker cooperatives

Yes, everyone is correct. They're not advocating for a "strict meritocracy." Affirmative action is over. They're now suing over the very presence of Black people and Latinos in elite education and white collar careers.

They're advocating for resegregation. Call it out every time.

Also Rose being introduced as a woman on a TV show and people regularly referring to her as she on said TV show, and also her bluesky bio listing she/her makes it even easier to remember and literally reference what pronouns to use for her there's literally no excuse lol
