Well, I've not done that specific scenario live from PBI, but I have used the Search endpoint to find specific things and store the outputs in a table, then used PBI to report on it.
I have however done Graph queries directly from PBI, which can be a BI sluggish.

I used the local API on my UDM to connect.
It was a completely random thing as I was trying to see what kind of data I could pull from my UniFi kit, to see if it could be connected with data in Microsoft Places and other physical sources to give a definitive picture of attendance.
