The meta-progression of unlocking items was the easiest to implement. I was starting to fear that the upcoming demo wouldn't have any meta-progression at all so I had to at least add something ๐คฃ
Vampirism! ๐ฅฐ
The most complex Affliction yet. Had to add loads of new functionality ๐ฑ
Bitten evolves into Thrall, then Vampirism.
Bonuses at Night and penalties during the Day.
Blood Drain heals you and sates your Blood Hunger that otherwise keeps stacking.

But I'll say straight up that it's unlikely, and far in the future. I have to be realistic about my scope and priorities ๐

I agree, basic stat upgrades are boring.
I think I like the meta-progression of something like Isaac the most.
Something that above all makes the game more complicated.
Unlocking items, locations, special events into the world. New characters, and maybe some signature afflictions for them. ๐

I was planning of letting you choose a "Reason" for your character at the beginning of each run. ie why you ended up as an Investigator.
One of those could be recieving a mysterious bloody package that contains you previous inventory ๐
That font is really good, but its 10px high. With my resolution, I need to be at 5px to fit anything on the screen ๐ฅฒ
You've inspired me to start making my own 5px font and its already much more legible that my current build ๐ซ
If that won't be good enough, I'll go up to 6px and rebuild the UI.
And it adds some consolation to a game over. At least you hopefully unlocked something new to make it easier for the next time ๐ฅฐ
Will be adding more meta-progression. Haven't quite nailed down what though.
At gameover you can use your levels to buy some character specific unlocks maybe? ๐

I'll be trying different fonts but I do have a strong aversion to anything breaking the uniform pixel density ๐ซ
Will have to see what I'll do, but rest assured, fixing the terrible font is on my shortlist of things to before the Demo release ๐ฅฐ

Added a Day Market, and now the Black Market has to be unlocked first.
All items sold there have to be found before you know to ask for them.
Somehow this knowledge survives even if you perish.๐
