Not sure Rebecca will be that positive next time she'll meet a Holy Knight π€£

Solodev developing Compromised Investigator. Please wishlist if it seems interesting! https://store.steampowered.com/app/4346850/Compromised_Investigator/ Little games I've made before: https://compromisedev.itch.io/
Not sure Rebecca will be that positive next time she'll meet a Holy Knight π€£
That is something that is still very much under consideration π
Currently the only way to get bitten is quite unintentionally, so your master won't be around, but let's just say that if a member of the vampire court happens upon you while you're in the enthralled state there will be consequences. π

Oh there will definitely be proper werewolf stuff. Will probably be very different mechanics though. Rather than a gradual transformation into a wolf, it'll probably start as uncontrolled transformation that you end being able to do at will as you evolve the affliction. Or something like that π
Thanks! π₯°
Compromised Investigator: store.steampowered.com/app/4346850/...
Currently working towards a demo release π
π₯°
Might be the final boss of whole Windermere.
No one dares to disrespect the Bus Driver π₯°
CompromiseDev gained "Bitten" π±
Oh definitely! It'll eventually change your "Race" to Vampire. Good luck even talking to anyone during the Day without showing your badge π
Meanwhile the Night will be much more accommodating all of a sudden π₯°
Actually, I drew her to be ambiguous on purpose. At first, the plan was that you could name them and choose the gender as you will π
Just wait until I fix the PortraitOverlay to make her paler too π
Thanks! Glad you like it π₯°
Thanks! π₯°
The meta-progression of unlocking items was the easiest to implement. I was starting to fear that the upcoming demo wouldn't have any meta-progression at all so I had to at least add something π€£
Vampirism! π₯°
The most complex Affliction yet. Had to add loads of new functionality π±
Bitten evolves into Thrall, then Vampirism.
Bonuses at Night and penalties during the Day.
Blood Drain heals you and sates your Blood Hunger that otherwise keeps stacking.

Maybe π
I do absolutely love voice acted games!
But I'll say straight up that it's unlikely, and far in the future. I have to be realistic about my scope and priorities π
But I did check you webpage, and I did like what I heard, so I'll definitely keep you in mind if that future ever materializes π₯°
I'm glad to be able to instill excitement π₯°
My master plan for uniqueness is to steal ideas from so many different sources that I hopefully end up with something that feels new π€£
We must protect that frogger from these curious giants! So adorable π₯°
Yeah, something like that sounds great! π₯°
Overstepping!? Never! All feedback and ideas are always incredibly welcome! The comments that I've gotten have already noticeably improved the game.
And now thanks to you, I was reminded of the Sunless-games and my mind is swirling with cool new ideas! π₯°
The plan is very much to make the game so horizontally wide that it starts to feel vertically deep π
Thanks! I honestly liked it so much myself that I stole it from my previous little game π₯°
In reality, it probably needs adjustment. For this game, it doesn't make much sense that its a miniature on a table. π
All sickos are welcome to have a look π₯°

I agree, basic stat upgrades are boring.
I think I like the meta-progression of something like Isaac the most.
Something that above all makes the game more complicated.
Unlocking items, locations, special events into the world. New characters, and maybe some signature afflictions for them. π
That is an excellent idea! I absolutely love those games π₯°
I was planning of letting you choose a "Reason" for your character at the beginning of each run. ie why you ended up as an Investigator.
One of those could be recieving a mysterious bloody package that contains you previous inventory π
That font is really good, but its 10px high. With my resolution, I need to be at 5px to fit anything on the screen π₯²
You've inspired me to start making my own 5px font and its already much more legible that my current build π«
If that won't be good enough, I'll go up to 6px and rebuild the UI.
And it adds some consolation to a game over. At least you hopefully unlocked something new to make it easier for the next time π₯°
Will be adding more meta-progression. Haven't quite nailed down what though.
At gameover you can use your levels to buy some character specific unlocks maybe? π
I know... It sure ain't pretty or easy to read π₯²
I'll be trying different fonts but I do have a strong aversion to anything breaking the uniform pixel density π«
Will have to see what I'll do, but rest assured, fixing the terrible font is on my shortlist of things to before the Demo release π₯°
That unlock popup fills me with excitement even while just testing the game π€£
All the roguelites I've played must have completely broken my brain π«
Thanks! π₯°
That sounds about right π₯°
Was thinking of having a fortune telling booth or something that you'd have to visit to access knowledge from your previous runs, but I quickly realised that it would just be tedious π
