rejection by tony tulathimutte. short story collection primarily about being rejected by society while chronically internet brained. first three stories were strong, i recommend looking up the ones available online (links in thread). rest of it felt weaker thematically but still a fun read overall.
A heteronormative society & the casual microaggressions make Emiri seek refuge in an inner sanctuary, represented as a beach where waves gently rock her feet. Later, the relationship she's building in spite of it all is initiated through similar gestures. We call this real cinema

The moon going from full moon to a red moon and starting to go back to a normal full moon, then my camera battery door fell off.
Here's my first edit on the March 3rd Lunar Eclipse. 15 moon shots, 1 foreground. Taken over a 3 hourish period.
its just a lot more convincing when the nation states are fighting over power using claims to natural resources as a thinly veiled excuse and much less convincing when actually god is evil and manipulating them. also whats up with that guy with the oedipus complex huh. whats his deal.
final fantasy 16 + dlc. it was fine i guess. the story was more interesting the more grounded it was, so the first two acts were decent, but the final act going full evil monologuing was a bit of a slog. i also wish jill was not sidelined as much as she was, even with how low my expectations were.

based on what my friends tell me about figure skating, judge bias has been a problem since forever, basically never addressed, and it's especially bad in ice dance. so political!
Egg-cellent news! The first California condor eggs of the season have been laid at our wildlife conservation center, and more could be on the way.

cosmic princess kaguya! a stellar depiction of several creators' deep love for online culture (which these days must include vtubers, of course) and also an amazing modern take on the tale of kaguya. beautifully animated story

centrists like to use terminology disputes as a proxy battle for actual policy fights, and engaging is often fruitless. if you don’t like the slogan use something else. but the agency needs to be hollowed out, every existing agent needs to be put on no-hire lists, and there need to be prosecutions.
Anyone who is part of the federal government who is not doing everything in their power to stop this administration, regardless of the assumed cost to normalcy or career, is a coward and a collaborator.
screenshot of a tweet from @NopeSignal that says "No Other Choice didn't get a single nomination. Naturally, Park Chan-Wook now has to kill the other nominees until they reluctantly give him the Oscar."
conveniently someone has already written it for me
no other choice. great movie go watch it. beautiful cuts, transitions, composition, everything. killer of a final scene. park chan-wook knocked it out of the park. seeing what day it is, an immense shame it wasn't nominated for an oscar, and the joke writes itself.
It's time. Perfect Tides: Station to Station is out on PC and Mac.

the most enjoyment i had during the movie was when rachel had her little conman moments but we can't have competent scammer women in this house either </3
marty supreme. we swapped to this after our original tickets for no other choice had the wrong showtime. 3 hr timothee chalamet humiliation ritual and also it pisses me off how free it is to make a movie about a guy who is terrible to everyone and makes bad decisions at every opportunity
i don't really like even a hint of student/teacher stuff though and even this was sorta ick to me. i'm sorry....... maybe when he's grown in later volumes

not-quite-industrial-steampunk setting, felt pretty slow because not that much actually happens in this one and it was setting stuff up for the next volumes. i liked the mysterious monk guy, did not like the evil barbarian framing, but it seems par for the course
