Western Amazigh languages have some word that are very weird .

Like the word for " back "

The Tetserret word ikšal (to resemble) has a cognate in Tamazight "iksul" which means “to be equal, to resemble ” .
This root resembles the Arabic word shakl (شكل) but with a metathesis. Is it a borrowing or an Afroasiatic cognate or are they completely unrelated ?

And Maqqal/Medbel is used to ask about the occurrence of something while implying that we would not want it to be the case .

The Tamajeq word “Maqqal” and the Tetserret word “Medbel” are constructed in the same way. They derive from the verbs “əqqəl” and “edbəl” which mean “to become”

Maqqal / Medbel is a question whose literal meaning is not clear it's what is it or may it not become

Maqqal wǝras ǝgeɣ akatab iknan ?

Medbel wǝraš igak kattab ǝskurǝn ?

It's attested in Tamajeq:

Səmətəṛ = to advise

Amater = advice, will (testament), donation given to the poor during funerals

It's possible that the use of ekel in Tetserret to designate a country is an influence of Tamajeq akal

Tamajeq makes a distinction between akal (country, region) and amaḍal (earth, soil) .

But Tetserret does not make this distinction it uses ekel for both country/region and earth/soil.

Tamajeq / Tetserret :

- elwa = yelu = it's vast

- amaḍal elwa = ekel yelu = the earth is vast

The ižobbaran are mythical figures from Tuareg tales whose name is now used to refer to dinosaurs in Tamajeq .

A new species of dinosaur has been discovered in the Sahara in Niger and named Spinosaurus mirabilis or the astonishing spinosaurus .
