Meanwhile Synapse 3 can't play some RGB lighting sequences properly, runs REALLY SLOW 100% of the time, seizes up frequently, can't ever remember my Kiyo settings and keeps making new settings profiles for it for some reason, noticeably resets LEDs every so often when that never happened on 2, etc

Synapse 2 wasn't an -amazing- program, it was a bit clunky but like, it worked. Most issues it ever had was occasionally failing to load account profiles (but always loaded local settings so w/e) or not detecting something which was solved by unplugging and plugging it back in. But no -bugs- IME

Oh was Highguard bad? I haven't been paying attention

It connects to an account to save settings to profiles, can be used without logging in and just saving/changing settings locally which is fine but I'm not sure if I can run it like, -offline-

All my Razer hardware works perfectly, the frustrating thing is I don't really -need- the control program especially since I really never rebind my extra mouse buttons or change DPI

But I want my gamer lights god dammit

I dunno I feel like complacency would just produce the same product and they'd coast on what already works, this is a level of -worse than the last version- that I don't think it can just be handwaved with complacency, they -really- screwed this up

I shouldn't have bothered updating from the old one when it worked fine, all of the devices I have are older models supported by 2 so I didn't -need- 3 but I got scared by (and tired of seeing) the constant "NO MORE UPDATES AFTER JANUARY 2026" (esp for security)

Razer isn't on bsky so I can't yell at them directly, but I've been using Razer Chroma products for years and never once had an issue with the previous control program, Synapse 2. But Synapse 3 which I was forced onto this January FUCKING SUCKS

How do you go from working fine to THIS BAD???

Spent all day running around addressing ferret emergencies. Was stressful and tiring but I handled everything very well.
