That’s my point. Why do GOP pols get to be treated as an inexorable law of nature? They aren’t a plasma. They are people with agency.

For sure. No collaborators. I just don’t get why no one on the left or right seems to think that GOP Congressfolk have any agency whatsoever. The free pass they’ve gotten – even by Trump haters – pisses me off.

What happened? Seems to me like GOP primary voters would have been happy with the MAGA stranglehold he got on a purple state.

One encouraging theme in last night's NC primaries is the simple fact that being pro-trans is now like being anti-ICE among Dem voters: to them, it means you're a fighter, it means you're not giving into Trump.

That's a really, really good sign.

Bessent is a dark horse for ending up winning “dumbest member of the Trump administration” when it is all said and done. I realize that the competition is fierce, but he’s putting the tape out there. Don’t count him out.

There should be *some* long-term reputational harm for letting itself get hijacked by complete morons.

One of my favorite moments (in retrospect—not at the time) is when the kid did something particularly exasperating, and I wearily asked “Why did you do that?” And he looked up w/ genuine confusion—because he also had no idea why he’d just done that.

Press gave Biden far worse coverage for a small number of American soldiers dying while leaving a war than to Trump for a similar number dying while starting a war for no reason. It makes you think!

I might be late to the party in realizing this, but the VP & cabinet have basically already soft 25th Amendmented the President.

We see him going to MAL parties constantly and think that is his choice. It is his advisors, pushing him away from the decision-making apparatus.

That can't happen until we win in the midterms. This congress isn't going to do it.

I think Trump should revise his statement. He should now indicate that he could shoot someone in broad daylight in the middle of fifth Avenue and 3/4 of Bluesky would still somehow find a way to blame it on the Democrats.

i think we need to make a social shift. instead of proving how cool you are by knifing someone on our team, what if you proved how cool you are by taking the fight to the enemy. crazy thought

This whole decade is all about conservatives getting basically everything they want and realizing that what they want sucks and everybody hates them

Frankly, I think rightwing concern trolls have determined that trans people are going to be the new Palestinians for the upcoming election ratfucking.
