✨Something from the Bronze Age. An ingot of copper and a piece of raw amber. Extensive global trade links were established in Prehistory. Luxury goods made from raw materials like these would have been owned by the elite as markers of status and prestige.

On a walk around #Conwy yesterday, I spotted something I hadn't noticed before. This magnificent #Gothic railway arch, built in 1840, through the #Medieval walls. It even continues the castellated parapet! Zoom in, and you can see where bits were chipped away as trains got bigger! #photograph #photo

Hello! A mobile phone photo here of a wonderful outdoor art installation by Andy Goldsworthy from 2003. Love the juxtaposition of the orderly slate wall & the profusion of ferns & landscape beyond. Stunning!

A black and white postcard in landscape format. It shows a group of men posing for a photograph at a Bowls game. Love that almost everyone is wearing a hat of some kind: boater, cap, bowler, fedora and top hat! In the background is a trellis screen and beyond the green are houses with trees. Looks like an affluent area of Manchester.

Hello Sunday! Here's a postcard from about 1900 of a bowling club in Manchester. Crown Green Bowls was a very popular game at that time. Many local parks and pubs had bowling greens. 😊
