If you want in on the group buy (like, if you want hundreds of stickers), let me know. We're looking at approx $18/100 stickers. @sngreenways.bsky.social @eastsideurbanism.org @cascade.org @moveredmond.org

We shouldn't have to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of tools for them to end up sitting in a closet or a garage for most of the year. That isn't worth the money or the space. Why not start a tool library so we can purchase once and share forever? πŸ› πŸ’š

Your regular reminder Delft’s market square was a surface parking lot as recently as 2004.

A razor-thin coalition (19-18 votes) initiated a six-month pilot to help merchants realize cars don’t spend money, people do.

Years later, no one remembers the controversy or regrets the decision. *Sound on*

Highway clogged with cars

Highway clogged with cars

If someone chooses to live in a smaller home in the inner city in part to avoid a long commute, they generally don’t pressure society to build them a bigger house with more stuff. So if you choose a bigger stuff-filled house in the suburbs, don’t expect society to build you a fast car commute.

Worried about Infrastructure Costs? Then End the Apartment Ban Worried about Infrastructure Costs? Then End the Apartment Ban

β€œAs researchers and good planners have long understood, it’s far cheaper to build and maintain public infrastructure to service denser forms of housing than it is to service low-density sprawl. It’s one of those intuitive truths that is also borne out by decades of research.”

New homes are a very small percentage of the overall housing stock.

I think we should worry about the price of the blue homes rather than the red homes, which have always been at the high end of the market by virtue of the fact that they are brand new.

Made this exact argument about Park Lane here in Kirkland. The distance from the Lake and Central Lot to the center of Park Lane is about 50m. 50m at Costco doesn't even get you past the ADA parking.
