On days like today, with so much uncertainty in the world, Iβm reminded why community matters so much.
Grateful we had our mutual aid knitting circle this morning to slow down, be together, and hold space for each other.
It's almost over, but maybe you need a February playlist? Here's a one we made for the shop, inspired by the moods my favourite indie films.

Brilliant! We do a new one each month, so there are lots more on the website. Glad you're enjoying the tunes!
Oh excellent! Enjoy
I've been taking my own advice recently and getting on with my knitting rather than looking at social media. If you are doing the same maybe pop our January playlist on in the background and give yourself a little space from the noise of the world:

One of our new heroes is the wonderful musician Jim Ghedi. Here's a great episode of 'Folk on Foot' talking with him about his music and the landscapes and social history of Sheffield and the Peak District. Perfect to listen to while knitting:

Escape the damp & stormy British weather & venture into the cold, crisp, frost edged December days of my memory & imagination. Grab your coat and that lovely scarf you made & letβs go and find a warm country pub with an open fire.

Because Samuel Beckett knew how to wear a knitted sweater.
Back in May I wrote a newsletter about the fact that my home town of Ringwood in the New Forest was once well known for a style of knitted glove named after the town. Here is a pic of the pair my sister Susan made recently.

Oh, so you need something wintery to listen to while you curl up on the sofa with your needles and wool? We have just the thing! Harriet's created an atmospheric winter playlist for November:

you are very welcome. It's lovely isn't it. Love the way it highlights the links between the wool, the location and the people and how wool is such a sensory material.
Here's 3 mins of escape, which I'm sure many of us could use. This gorgeously made short film from Uist Wool always reminds me of the many, wider reasons I love working with such a wonderful material.

Something about autumn just makes me want to wear big wooly jumpers and corderoy jackets while listening to Ronnie Lane and drinking real ale.

One of today's customers was nice enough to leave us some apples from their tree. A lovely taste of autumn.
