Historian here history first time as tragedy the second time as farce.

As far behind as I am on all the important work-life stuff, the creative juices are flowing again somewhat. I spun up the beginnings of a new story earlier this week, and somehow I nailed the opening paragraph on the second try.

I have this file of “interesting random notes about medieval relics housed in Venice.” Just names, source location, sometimes another sentence. Every time I found a reference I’d add it.

During my scholarly career so many additional projects emerged as a result of that file.
