Consider buying a shirt to support #STEAMinthePark! The actual shirt looks better than the mockup on the order page. #BrownSignLife #IBrakeForBrakeSigns www.bonfire.com/brown-sign-l...

Rangers who met their spouse while writing resources studies, families remembering grandpa who dragged them out to Wind Cave every summer to camp, old biker dudes who love the Black Hills honoring their buddy's final ride.

The parks touch so many lives in so many ways.

Q4: Park favorites like Zion and Great Smoky Mountains see millions of visitors yearly, but there are others discussed + visited far less. Which national park(s) do you think deserves attention in 2026? Why do you think this is an underrated gem? What makes 2026 the perfect year to visit? #parkchat

Get yours before Thursday! And if you buy at a park site (vs the website), your money goes to that site. Check with your local site before assuming they have them for purchase though, since free sites often don't stock them. #ParkChat

Wreaths Across America was today. It's a powerful ceremony - You say the veteran's name to remember them, before you lay the wreath. It's really a ritual with the idea being a person dies twice, once physically, and then again when their name is no longer spoken. #ParkChat

New 'America the Beautiful' Pass Design and Categories Are Illegal, Lawsuit Says Center for Biological Diversity sues Trump administration over 2026 national parks passes

I said it last week!

And today, the Center for Biological Diversity filed a lawsuit challenging the new design (Trump's face) on next year's America the Beautiful pass, as well as the new category for nonresidents.

We caught the 9-11 flag-lowering at Canyon Village in Yellowstone. It was very moving. Our amazing rangers helped us remember and honor the fallen.

Hundreds of small luminaries in a field, stretching into the distance. The 2025 Memorial Illumination at Antietam National Battlefield.

What's something awe-inspiring or deeply emotional you've seen at a #PublicLand or #NationalPark? Most recently for me, it's the annual Memorial Illumination at Antietam National Battlefield, where 23000 lights illustrate the toll of 9/17/1862 against the night sky.

Looking forward to hosting another great #ParkChat this Wed. night, 12/3! I’ll have a topic by then, I promise.

This will be my first #ParkChat since being enshrined in the ParkChat Hall of Fame. I knew if I publicly begged for it long enough they’d let me in. That works for everyone, doesn’t it?

Railroad tracks through a narrow gorge, extending into the distance

I've got this burning, yearning feeling deep inside me, and it hurts so bad.... I need to go wandering. This view of railroad tracks was discovered when following brown signs for "Covered Bridges" in the Catoctin Park and Cunningham Falls State Park area. #IBrakeForBrownSigns #BrownSignLife

A fav stop was the (recently burned) Nebraska National Forest. The origin story of this place is wildβ€”basically, a local professor convinced Teddy Roosevelt to designate this treeless tract as a β€œforest reserve,” so he could then hand-plant one. Until recently it was the largest man-made forest.
