Public service announcement: *every* bash script should begin with the following lines. There are no exceptions. This is particularly true if you *think* you have found an exception. You haven't. Don't do it.
Anyone in the Linux + Apple ecosystem has a better alternative? Here you can find some other ideas: getoffpocket.com
Anybox looks great, but bookmarks can only be added from Apple devices. GoodLinks has a simple Chrome extension to add bookmarks on any platform, is affordable, imports from Pocket, syncs with iCloud, and exports to JSON. Both only let you read on Apple devices, but that's fine by me
First it was the ol' good del.icio.us, and now #Pocket is shutting down. So here we go again, looking for a new home. After a quick Saturday morning search, #GoodLinks and #Anybox are my top picks π€
Anyone got a good alternative to Pocket as a read later / stash a copy of an article tool?

For no particular reason (masochism?), we've revamped varnishmon's UI from espagueti #JavaScript to #React. It's a toy UI, but it should handle 1k-2k live time-series per page smoothly. Do I know anyone with real JavaScript chops to take a look and tell me how bad it is, especially the React part?
There's a new kid in OSS town: varnishmon, at simple tool inspired by atop, that can be used to easily record, visualize, and share #Varnish metrics with minimal setup. Perfect for troubleshooting and ongoing insights: github.com/allenta/varn... Welcome it to your toolbox! π

The Redis module for Varnish has been around for a decade, aiding in use cases like paywalling & request prioritization at the caching edge. Due to recent Redis licensing drama, I want to introduce its sibling, the Valkey VMOD, based on the upcoming libvalkey library: github.com/carlosabalde... π

Yesterday, I dedicated the day to writing server-side JavaScript because, well, someone has to pay the mortgage. I can tolerate Python, enjoy both Go and C, and loved Erlang in a previous life. Iβm curious about Rust and Zig, but JavaScript? That π© always brings me to tears
