Think it's the fact that if it were just 10 minutes while going up to get baby settled as much as poss, I'd deal with it! But this is two nights in a row that there's been two prams sitting in the close for over an hour. Also, it's when I'm getting home from work, so I have several bags on me too 😩

I get it! I really do! Dragging shit up the stairs sucks (it's why I was sorta relieved we got the ground floor after 10+ years of second floor living) and having a wean must make it even worse. But I'm also like... I live here too and my door area isn't a storage space!

If you want to go take the rubbish out back to the bin sheds, sometimes you basically have to climb over a pram and the bike because there's no room. If nothing else, this seems like a hazard if there were a fire and given what happened last weekend in an old Victorian tenement-style building...

Am I being unreasonable to get annoyed about this? I'm in a ground floor flat and not only is there a bike chained to the stair railings just in front of our door, now TWO prams keep getting left in the narrow close. They're not "blocking" our door but they sorta are tbh...

We're in a tenement btw.

Watching FOTR in late 2001 made me read the LOTRs for the very first time. I cannot stress enough how much those films mean to me (despite the fanbase they attract these days.)

I think this is why I find “Queen of Mordor” fics a little unsatisfying at times even as a shipper. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being a wife and mother *and* a ruler/action girl! But if the marriage and child birthing feels like the focus of the fic it’s not really subverting anything!

Getting properly back into Tolkien works sure is fun when you’re no longer student broke and wondering if it’s dumb to spend £200+ on some books because: pretty slipcase…

This is a thing for me… lots of pro and anti HMC people (not you obvs!) love to accuse each other of misogyny and I’m a bit “err… doesn’t Celebrían exist in the first place basically so Elrond had someone to marry who wasn’t Galadriel but still related to everyone?” It’s not exactly deep in canon!

I feel a strong disconnect between me and like half the fandom because to me Half-Maia Celebrían is only fun when it’s legit the opposite of what anyone wanted, including her when she finds out 😂 Or if it’s a manipulation tactic… but (except for in my trippiest canon fic) only by Galadriel.

I would rather work on a project that I might enjoy on a temporary basis than have to train a bunch of people/things to replace me, is that harsh? Idk.
