But yeah in some ways this transfers burden of responsibility onto individuals instead of the company itself. Definitely a parallel to AI responsibility being transferred to individuals as well. Ahhh the dialectic!

The thing about programming abstractions is that at the end of the day you're still programming
I do not mean to glaze the bank of canada itself but it was the last thing I expected to see so much thought behind when it comes to UX
It's not appreciated enough how good the UX is for the Bank of Canada. Maybe I am just used to seeing exchange rates looking like geocities. We got monospace fonts, aesthetic colour palettes (not colourblind safe sadly) high contrast visibility, AND dark mode www.bankofcanada.ca/rates/exchan...
i am calling the ambulance now
This is cool, what determines colour? Number of connections with others in a cluster? Something to do with the probability of the topic?

Even worse, they made the founder of David Social (257 followers on bluesky) angry. Adobe is backpedalling
OPEN SOURCE ADOBE ANIMATE @adobe.com !!!!!
Yes at least open source it or something!
Oh it's even bigger than that they're discontinuing Animate! This is basically Flash (they acquired Flash and rebranded to Animate when Flash support got axed online)
It's perfect
Absolutely brutal I would buy one personally no need to do this

I don't know what N is but it will happen in my professional lifetime. Here "collapse" can mean anything between folding as a company to just becoming infeasible eg the almost-real unity runtime fee, the current state of Adobe, etc
[nerd shit cw] I see people get really stoked about some tooling or software like Obsidian and I just can't accept it simply bc it's not open source, like sorry that is a show stopper for me. I'm not going to dedicate the time and mental resources to learn something that will collapse in N years
"AI agents guided by algorithms" is breaking my brain, my brother AI IS algorithms

it's true a lot of these embedded LLMs are really limited. The truth of the matter is there is a lot of engineering that needs to happen to embed one of these into your software system(s) and I think many companies are wrongly treating it as simple as the sparkle emoji โจ๏ธ
Strange because you would think that functionally the AI-in your-PDF-reader is better than your AI Website, but maybe these features are underdeveloped, or maybe it is breaking user flow in some way, making you task switch, which having the separate window is less cognitive load? Idk spitballin here
Personally if I need an LLM I always go to the website. It's not just due to bitterness @ companies trying to shove AI down our throats. Something designerly is off, it's "getting in the way". If it was actually useful it would be invisible to us and we would not notice that we are using it
do people actually click the copilot/LLM buttons embedded in web browsers, PDF readers, microsoft office, start menu, <your app here>, or do they just go to chat gpt dot com when they want to use an LLM?
the point of notepad is to be simple and bare bones and copilot is not that
for some reason people are trying to login with the password "jk"
