Todayβs #BleachTYBW was pure art
The relationship between these two, and the level of detail they gave us in just 20 minutes, was superb
Found my new pseudonym:
Iβm not *that* short!
Started Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and I can see why this was the edgy shounen anime of the 2000s
Very good
Iβm Jodo Shu, but both Jodo and Shin descend from Honen, who was a Tendai priest before he left Mt. Hiei. Ichinen Sanzen is a Tendai teaching
Re-watching King on Netflix and realizing two Kings of Westeros are also in it

Biden pardoning Hunter is getting so much attention because the side that always talks about norms so easily breeches them only when everyone is looking

If you ever see people βdedicate meritsβ of a Buddhist chanting, a prayer, a sutra reading, or even a prostration,
that is to get a result where more people have the opportunity to attain enlightenment.
Cultivating merits is always for the sake of others. Get lots of it, and we can all be happy!
In Buddhism, there are four kinds of karma:
β unwholesome karma, created by bad deeds
β wholesome karma, created by good deeds
β neutral karma, created by both good and bad deeds
β merit, created by deeds dedicated to liberating sentient beings from samsara
Merit is the best karma one can do!
Q: Is karma what goes around comes around?
A: No. Karma is your volitional thought, speech, and action. Do good, and good results. Do bad, bad results.
The saying goes, one plants trees whose shade they shall never sit in. Sow karmic seeds youβd hope to reap not for you, but for the sake of all.

Midwest Buddhist Temple members made and delivered over 300 sandwiches to unhoused people in Chicago today, for their monthly delivery. They also distributed hats, gloves, socks, blankets, jackets, and other cold weather accessories.

That was an unfortunate read. It shows how important it is that we push back against statements of hate and bigotry disguised as dharma.
The karmic consequences of calling homosexuality a sin could be as small as insulting, or as the article illustrates, as heinous as killing.
I think the rest of Buddhism agrees with your school on individuals creating karma.
Just in the English language, creating bad karma is translated as βsinβ. The Sanskrit will be klesha, anantarya, etc.
Similar to how βenlightenmentβ is a translation of nirvana, despite it being a Christian term.

How should #Buddhists approach #Thanksgiving π¦
The Buddha says in the Diamond Sutra that we should practice giving without attachment to thought or perception.
Therefore, if we can practice generosity, give compassion to our family & relatives, without expecting anything, it will benefit everyone.
