Headstone for a couple from the 1800s in the shape of a log bench, the coupleβs name is βCouchβ
Johna waking through cemetery shaded with trees

The cemetery was a true gem. The older headstones were creative and interesting, the newer plots clearly well loved. It was wonderful spending time there and seeing how creative people were in their memorials.
Two people on bicycles facing each other, in a corn field
#3/22: Italy, TX
When not inundated with cyclists, it seems like it would be a peaceful place to live. Itβs 20 mins from large(r) cities with more infrastructure, and surrounded by fields.
As a tourist there are places to stay, but not many places to see besides the library or snow cone stop
Cyclists at the starting line of a race
A cyclist standing next to a girl with a sign, the sign says, βRide fast like a Ferrari, pedal smooth like gelatoβ

The town hosts an annual cycling event called βTour DβItaliaβ that invites cyclists to bike anywhere from 10 to 63 miles on the country roads surrounding the town - this was the 37th year, and it was an absolute delight

#3/22 Italy
Population: 60.3M (Italy), 1.9k (Texas)
Location: An hour south of Dallas
What it has: A gas station worthy of a shower and staying overnight, a high school, corn fields, and a really nice cemetery dating back to the 1800s
The vibe: A quick stop on the way to another town
Feel that, happy youβre still kicking.

Sometimes I feel like Iβm getting to a mature point in my career, excited about the strategic conversations and impact of the work on peopleβs lives
β¦ and sometimes upon opening the door for the delivery guy, he sees me and says, βIβm sorry, I need an adult to sign for this packageβ
Book Cover: Engineering Management for the Rest of Us by Sarah Drasner
Thank you @sarahedo.bsky.social for the values-based people management instructional - immediately ordering hardcopies for the people I work with who are starting to lead teams
The rain near the end spiced it up a bit! Was fun to see the teams scramble a bit
Cyclists in motion during a crit race
If you had told 14yo me that dozens of adults got up early on a Saturday morning to do laps around my schoolβs parking lot on bicycles in semi-organized teams to find out whoβs fastestβ¦ maybe I would have better ideas for spectator signs now
Any predictions or hopes on this one?
Sign of life: Still actively around, lurking, peeking into different feeds, reading peopleβs diaries, enjoying the scenery
So pretty!!

Cheese and cheese products are a deeply essential food group
The grocery store trip last night resulted in no less than 10 cheeses in the basket, though no cheese whiz
Best Iβve found is scanning whatβs hot or searching random words, seeing whoβs liked the things I like, and checking out their content - feels a bit like kindergarten
I would like to hear more about the cream cheese you speak of

We'd like to remind all citizens that stellar trespassing is strictly forbidden, especially at night. Any individuals found loitering on starscapes or looting nebula debris will be charged with celestial vagrancy.
Corporate Friday energy is the perfect intersection of βletβs finish things upβ and βeveryone wants to get on with their livesβ
Itβs been interesting to see the emotions that creep into the discourse around transparency - certainly seems like that will be normalized eventually either by mandate or choice, but curious how long and what it will take to get there. Sounds like an interesting exit interview.
Itβs neat seeing a high profile team sport where someone can stay relevant (and at the top) into their sixties
Love it! What bits keep you in it and excited?
Excuse me as I go check out Neweyβs memoir
Alpine for me, mostly for the drama, but our household is also a heavy Ferrari and Russel fandom
Red Bull is smoking everyone! This is my first full season and discovering theyβre not only involved but truly top tier at f1 has been mind blowing
Itβs been much more fun watching him maneuver higher in the ranks than his usual front row lead - rooting for anyone in particular?
